Kubota OEM vs Napa Oil Filters - Torn open comparison

/ Kubota OEM vs Napa Oil Filters - Torn open comparison #2
When I first got the BX in 2005 I went and looked for the crosses on the oil filter and back then I found many of the filters that popped up on a web site where a guy was comparing motorcycle oil filters. Looking at the pictures on that web site is when I discovered that the oil filter cans had short elements in them and the amount of filter material was short and not what I wanted to be using on a tractor.

Please now do a comparison on the WIX/NAPA equivalent for the inline fuel filters, WIX is listing the 33972 inline filter with a 50 micron plastic screen in place of the Kubota inline fuel filter with the water blocking paper

33972 Part Details

For the first filter changes on my Kioti I went to the Kioti dealer and bought the filters then went to Napa & had them me pull out their filters that matched. Just picking them up I noticed they were significantly lighter so decided since my dealer filters were priced either the same or within a few $ I would stick with them. Since seeing the video I think I made the right decision.

I wonder who actually makes the Kubota filters

Over the years it changes. When I first got the L3130, it uses the larger oil filter and was made in Japan, then the dealer got some in that were US made and now the latest ones are from China. No mater where the source was , they were always well made filters. On the hydraulic and HST filters, a lot of those are Japan and some US made.

I never could understand why someone would make a huge investment in a tractor and try to say a few bucks on filters and oil.Kubota sourced for me only.I am an above average user;150 hours a year so it is a fluid change every two and half years.

Napa filters are made by WIX. They work fine. The Kubota one does have more pleating and is better in that regard but with my 20+ engines around here running WIX filters I have never had one plug up or ever had an oil filter related issue.

I also run Wix and have never had a problem or any shortened life that I can confirm.
