You can use a 50hp engine to run a 100hp generator head, you just can't pull more than 50hp worth of electricity out of it.
:D

OK :) I'll give you that, you can create the perception of "gearing up" the generator/economy.....

I didn’t read all the posts but I read enough of them.

I am of the younger generation (27), and I hear a lot from the older generation how bad the “ millennials” are.

I have come to the conclusion that the older generation is ALWAYS gonna complain about the younger one. I’m sure your parents complained about your generation, why? Because people fear change, younger generations have a different way of doing things and it’s always doom and gloom from the older generation.

90% of the kids I graduated with are doing just fine, I own my house and have for 3 years, both my sisters own, my fiends own. The buddies I grew up with all learned trades, one is a journeyman ironworker, I learned HVAC and plan to start an HVAC business with my father after I obtain my state HVAC contractors license, one sister is a social worker at a hospital, a buddy of mine is an aircraft mechanic at the local International airport and his brother is a pharmacist, I could go on and on about kids I graduated with.

My generation was told we wouldn’t amount to anything in life if we didn’t get good grades, go to college and get a college diploma, a lot of you make such a fuss about debt but forget or don’t know how much college costs.

Just yesterday I talked with a few kids a tad younger than I am that was bagging groceries at Kroger and 3 of them had college degrees but they found out their degrees weren’t as helpful finding a job with no work experience.

I have heard plenty of stories about how irresponsible my parents and their friends were with money that a lot of the arguments about my generation is void, I never got away with 1/10th of the stuff my dad and his buddies did, drag racing brand new cars, out running cops in souped up muscle cars, fighting everyday, all the race war stuff etc. I think quite a few of the older generation is quick to forget all that.

Rant over*

The cost of my grandpas first house on 50 acres was about equal to his 2 year salary at a low paying job. Gotta love inflation. And if any of you are in the $15 an hour minimum wage crowd go look at the self check outs in grocery stores and some fast food places. It doesn’t take another Einstein to figure out what’s coming.

KUDOS! I am certainly glad you and friend's are doing well and are breaking stereo-types. A large portion of the young folks I am aware of( my kids included) are wandering a little aimlessly not knowing exactly what to do and which way to go. Heaven forbid they listen to someone that has already been there. I worry about them because the world has changed.

Absolutely! I am a bit older than you at 43, but it begs the question; 'where did the millenials learn this stuff? From their parents!' It really is sad.

I talked with a guy I used to work with. He was 57 and talking about retiring, but had to pay off his house first. Okay, I will give him slack on that...at 57 that should have long been paid for, but okay..and then he goes out and buys a new Harley. I am thinking, he should have paid double payments on his house, retired early and enjoyed his new Harley EVERY summer day instead of just a few good summer weekends because he had to work! This guy is 57 years old,,,he should have known!

I am glad to hear you are doing so well though. And if I can ever say or do anything to encourage you, I hope I can. I retired at age 42 so I back up what I say with results.

I hear so many people tell me that what I am doing is wrong; from my accountants, attorneys, former teachers and bankers. I just ask them, "then if what I am doing is so wrong, then how come I am retired and you are not?"

I see it ALL THE TIME too Btrack>> guys I "worked" with..
55 years old.. complaining about work.. not a pot to p in or window to throw it out of.. but come tax refund time.. LOOK OUT..
New 3000.00 wheels on their trucks, new 2500.00 stereos.. take a week off of work cuz they had money in their pockets.
BUT.. have 2-3 mortgages on their house & 4 child support payments to 4 different mothers..
I USE TO preach to them all the time but gave up.. I left the rat race in December.. turned 55 in January.. & not lookin back any time soon.
Just have a marketable skill & a level head & everybody will be OK..
& unless you work at a tech company.. PLAYING XBOX IS NOT A MARKETABLE SKILL..

Just curious... how many children do you have?
