I wear "Holeproof" socks.

However the key thing that I look for are ones with copper micro thread in the toe/heel area... it destroys microbes that make your feet stink!

If you want proof, surgical clothing is infused with copper threads due to 'death to microbes' on contact. I've also heard that the US Marine's issue boxer shorts are the same quality copper material... due to multi days 'in the field' = no crotch-rot! :yuck:

I also believe that the Romans discovered this 'quality'.

News to me, never heard of this.

Those are pretty good. I used to get them all the time. Now I have gone to the Cabelas wool socks.

They are comfortable Year around in boots and very cushioned and comfortable.

Another Smartwool and Darn Tough sock wearer, when I don't have to wear dress socks during the week. I'll be the first to admit, all men's dress socks suck. I've tried them all, the polo and gold toes last the longest. The elastic is the first thing that goes. So I'm all ears if anyone has a solid mens dress sock.

I love wool socks, though. I threw out all cotton socks long ago.

I've bought REI Merino wools sox for years. The last few purchases I've notice the quality has gone downhill. I''l check out the Darn Tough brand. Thanks for the tip.

I must have 40 pair of sox. Every one from a different manufacturer. My on-going, life long attempt to find the "perfect" pair of sox. At times, I think feet weren't meant to have sox on them.

I like REI Smart Wool too but do think quality has slipped a bit, at least for the style I bought again.
