Fox River, made in Osage Iowa. If you ever attend their yearly clearance sale, you discover they make socks for many other companies like Cabelas and LL Bean.

Wondering what cushion you get with the Darn Tough socks? I always wear an over-the-calf and like to wear the same sock with everything, boots, work shoes. I don't like a thin sock
Thanks

They make several designs each with a set level of cushion. My preference is what I think is called the “steelie” going from memory so don’t quote that. But it’s orange toes and some other color but there great in work boots, casual shoes and Sandles.

Another Smartwool and Darn Tough sock wearer, when I don't have to wear dress socks during the week. I'll be the first to admit, all men's dress socks suck. I've tried them all, the polo and gold toes last the longest. The elastic is the first thing that goes. So I'm all ears if anyone has a solid mens dress sock.

I love wool socks, though. I threw out all cotton socks long ago.

Dress socks I got cheap at costco. Seem to last as long as the name brands, but half the cost, so money ahead.

As for the darn tough socks..... where can I find them for less than $20/pair. If they really are the last sock I will ever buy I am ok with spending more :)

Again lifetime no bull crap warranty. So if or when you kill them you can get another pair.
They do have sales on there Home sight from time to time. However cheapest way I get them is there are several stores that sel them and they go on sale. A deep deep sale I buy them then at 40-60% off retail so my last set cost me like 6-7$ for my ankle high socks and about 10-12 dollars for the orange toed ones.

Kinda surprised with 45 posts that no one has mentioned Thorlos. They are all I have worn for maybe 30 years, and I bet I still have a pair or two that are 30 years old. Super comfortable. Seemingly indestructable.

I use these:

Black | ECCXM | Men Crew | Everyday Comfort Socks | Thorlos(R)

I have worn nothing but Thorlos for about 30 years. Excellent quality. I know many of the Thorlo, Inc. people personally. Good people, zealots about quality, and their socks are made 100% in the USA.

Another vote for J.C. Penney gold toe. I've used nothing else for decades. Last forever. Get a bunch of black pairs now you never have to look for matching socks again.

Many thanks for the J.C.Penny tip. I'd been wearing Gold Toe's for many years - loved 'em. Then all of the sudden I couldn't find them anywhere! Never thought about Penn's. But with your lead, I jumped on the internet and found that Penny's had all colors, sizes, etc. - and for the 'right price'. Ordered 14 pair on Monday, and today (Tuesday) they arrived. Just like old times, all over again.

Now I'm going to go through my sock drawer and toss at least 14 pair of cheap-azz Dickies. Heck - I may just order another 14 pair of Gold Toe's from Penny's today. That should cover my sock needs for my lifetime. ...nah, hope not...

But again, I am most thankful to you for taking the time to mention Penny's.

I have bought near $20 a pair 5.11 Tactical socks and down to the cheapest I could buy at WalMart. What I have found to be the ultimate long wearing, silver threaded sock is the US Military socks. My son is a Marine, so any time he comes home from a base I have him bring me 2 or 3 packs of the brown USMC issue socks that he buys at the PX for around $6 for 3 pair. They far outlast anything I have ever tried, and they contain silver threads that kill microbial growth that causes foot rot and stink. If you know of any soldiers and you can get them to get you a pack, try them. I have years worth stocked up, and my son is getting out of the Marines soon... so I want him to grab me a bunch more to add to my stock for when I eventually need them. These are the best socks on earth in my opinion. I have been wearing these for about 6 years now.

I attached a link, but on base he gets them for half that price.
USMC Coyote Brown Boot Socks Set of 3 | The Marine Shop

I bought 6 pair and I will see how they work out. Got to be good enough for me if the Marines are wearing them.
