Beautiful machine!!!!

Not lecturing, just passing on a hint in regards to using the HVT. When you push on the go pedal you do two things, you increase engine rpms and you cause the hydraulic drive to gear itself up. So if I am climbing a steep hill or pulling an extremely heavy load I can sometimes make better progress by coming off the pedal just a little.

It's because of this quirk that I added a hand throttle. It only increases engine rpm. You still use the foot pedal to move. So in extreme conditions I pull the hand throttle to wide open engine speed. Then I use the foot pedal to apply movement. This lets the engine operate at it's maximum torque range. It also lets the HVT operate at it's maximum torque range. Result, high engine rpm and very slow ground speed.

Maybe your machine came with a hand throttle?? Mine is a 2008 model and it did not.

I won't take it as lecturing at all. You have the experience I don't have with the HVT.
I do not have the hand throttle but have wondered what people use it for. I can see that is a good case for one. I am very hilly here and can see a very positive need for it.
I think I've seen one at Messics(sp) for around $80. It remind me of a vernier throttle/prop control off an airplane. lol
Thank you for sharing...

I think I paid close to $100 by the time it shipped. Yes, very similar in design. Push the button on top of the knob and pull, releasing button when you are close to what you want. Then turn the knob clockwise to increase, counterclockwise to decrease engine speed.

I don't use mine a lot. But I've been in situations in the steep timber that required it to get out of.

Black knob up and to the left of the small orange knob. Your location might be different. Very easy kit to install.

Cool. Thank you for the pic. I have a blank in the same spot yours is installed. I'll order one today.
BAM!!!
I haven't even been on here 24 hours and I've learned something important.
Thank you very very much..

That throttle kit even comes with a cute little sticker telling you what the knob does. :D

I saw a label on a snow blower that said it was NOT to be used on a roof. What the heck?!? I think is someone's God given right to use a snow blower on their roof! What I have a problem with is if they use it on their roof and don't video it for our entertainment, that's down right selfish! lol
