Yes - as has been said here, one is for comfort and so you to look good on/in - the other is for long lasting hard work.

Choose wisely, grasshopper.................

I will have to agree with you though on the L6060 v M6060 though.

Choose wisely...

"to look cool in/on"? Is that why you think people choose a "Grand L" series Kubota?

That wouldn't even enter my mind in the decision making process. ;)

You know - 3R - its about this time of year when I'm out doing something on the tractor. I wonder if the decision to go cab-less was so very wise- ha,ha. Cab-less certainly does make winter drag on..........

Okay....now hold on everyone....I was right where this gentleman is at one time. I was like seriously? Basically the same price? So after reading all the comments exactly like you are right now.....I went with the larger utlitily machine.....It was a M6800 which equals and is the same as today's M7060...but better in my opinion as no emissions crap....it had all the goodies....cab...grammar seat...hydro shuttle shift etc......After using it for almost 4 years...I traded it in the last 2 weeks for the Grand L 5740 (today's L6060 but better cause no emissions crap).....

My reasoning for the Grand L over the M 100% was the hydrostatic tranny.....ohhhh man....I just LOVE the tredle peddle....just so so so easy for doing everything...and you still get lots and lots of horsepower.....and you can see these things last a very very long time just like the M's do. Go search out used Hydrostatic anything.....grasshopper lawn mower, tractors or whatever and you will see thousand and thousands of hours......

Long story short....make sure you choose what is best for YOU and YOUR applications....I did not the first time around....but now after all these years I have my dream tractor....the grand L cab tractor with hydro tranny.....

If I ever need big horsepower I'll just buy some used old IH 1066 or something....but this Grand L is a workhorse beast as well....and I can tow it easily! And to be honest the M will be stronger that the Grand L....but it isn't just a ton of more power to make it worth it to me to give up all the nice things the luxury Grand L has to offer.

And just joking about the older ones being better.....the newer ones while they have emissions junk on them....kubota has made other improvements in refinement and what not.

I thought the cab on the m6060 and m7060 was as nice as the grand L cab? Triple R called it an ultra cab?

Cab: Two-post foldable ROPS with optional canopy. Ultra Grand Cab optional with heat and air-conditioning

Yes my dilemma is size (width, height). I dont want to get something that severely limits my ability to get into places. Its a balancing act.

M6060 Cab = 5,358 pounds, bare tractor
L6060 Cab = 4,376 pounds, bare tractor

M6060 Cab = +982 pounds/22% greater weight.

I ran open station for most of my life, but the sands of time do take a toll, so our open stations get used by my brother. I really like a cab to extend the tractoring season.

It takes a 50% increase in bare tractor weight before you notice a significant tractor capability increase.
It takes a 100% increase in bare tractor weight to elicit MY-OH-MY!
I don't know where you came up with that, but I've seen with my own eyes that adding 1,000 pounds to a 60hp farm tractor made a HUGE difference in what it would pull!

And I'm talking, adding the weight all over the tractor, NOT just weight the wheels...

That's a LONG ways from adding 50% to that tractors weight...
