What about a GMC pickup is different than a Chevrolet pickup?

I worked where they were built and the only difference was the trim packages. Just about everything else is the same.

My next truck will be a GMC 2500/3500 or F-250/350. I've driven both in 2018 model years. I love the looks of the GMC and Ford. I also drove the 2018 Chevy which is very similar to the GMC of course, but the fit/finish on the GMC is more appealing to my eye (grille, cosmetics, etc). The GMC rides more smoothly/comfortably than the other two, almost as if you're in a car. The Chevy is also smoother riding than the Ford in my opinion. The Ford feels and rides like a heavy truck. The Ford has a nicer interior/layout, but I have a Ford currently so it may just be that it is more familiar to me than the Chevy or GMC. I like them all better than the Dodge, but that's just cosmetic really and personal opinion. Yes, I drove the Rams too. All 2018 diesels. If I had the cash today, I'd really stress over whether I want the GMC or the Ford.

There is no additional quality control on a gmc. The only difference is trim packages and slight cosmetics.

I lost nearly half of my 401k's value during the GM bankruptcy. (Stock-weighted, $275k-150k in weeks as GM stock sales were frozen) Seemed like a big deal back then, and with a few hundred shares in hand now just pretty pictures. lol (more than recovered)

I didn't vote for any government assistance, have only weathered my own storms. I could take a moral path and groan along with whomever else got stung, but sour grapes don't make the best punch. Nothing I've said is much sillier than GM/gov't jokes as to the dif between Chevy and GMC trucks.

Maybe we'd have been better off if Mr Trump had been President for two terms following GW and the whole Country would be better off. He had a good plan for the car cos, didn't he? You guys are up on your history, right?

Reminds me of when GM bought Saab. They assumed that they could get the Swedes to do things the GM way. That they would build their cars using GM platforms with minor trim and sheet metal changes. Of course the Swedes had different plans that included ditching the GM radio/ nav system and coming up with their own.
