well here's the big question, is a green light blinking once per second considered fast or slow?
If slow, all is well. If fast I am in overcharge. Of course they don't spec....\

is once a second fast?

need to contact mfg; now how hard would it have been to spec a bicolor LED that would go red
on overcharge instead of flashing faster?

Check voltage at battery. Maintain voltage should be 13.1. Charge voltage should be 13.6 or higher. Charged battery is 12.7. Discharged is 12.0.

Every year is different, but this seems to be one of the more challenging years to get taps running. Some days the sugar shacks are "steaming" and some days they are not. I have +1' of snow on the ground here and down in the Valley there is no snow at all except where it was piled.

Years ago we sugared for our own personal use. It's hard work. The place that we rented still had "sticky walls" in the kitchen from the previous tenant's "sugaring."

We use ~1 quart of maple syrup/year nowadays. We like the Grade B (Dark) syrup.

Only brought 6 bags of pellets to the house, still had 4 here, being optimistic it will warm up.
Only .1 hr of seat time.
Still chilly out there.

Up to 47 from a low of 21 this morning. A little wind still. I gotta run some errands and get ready to go to dinner later. And grandson痴 basketball game.

When I get home I might have to hunt up a couple of popsicle sticks and the duct tape if Ellen decides to stay tonight!

Blue pill?

Sunny here, nice change from the normal gloom around here. Still colder than I’d like. I have a stopped up shower drain at home, it did not yield to plunging, so I am going to try to use a flexible tube and induce some air pressure to blow it out. I really don’t like the drano or other chemical cleaning stuff.

For shower drain, use a long plastic drain dohicky with the sharp pointy edges that will snag the hair.

Cold is coming here as well for a week. Snow expected.

Someone is coming to look at the Czech walk behind tractor. Looks like I need to clean the carb on the Honda GSV motor though, it quits at low RPMs. I hope the guy buys it, because I need a place to park the Iseki when it gets delivered sometime next week.

Politics has been interesting the past month to say the least...

So far, mafia hasn't been a problem for us. We lock doors religiously and carry guns anyway. Cheap insurance. I don't know why that poor journalist and his fiancee who were killed didn't do likewise.

I was afraid for a bit last year that the "subsidy farmer" who was using my wife's family's land without permission might be a problem, but thankfully it was not-- we explained that is our land, sorry that he spent money clearing brush from it to get subsidies, but there is a duty under the law for farmers to contact owners, so in exchange for this free "legal advice"-- he seemed genuinely unaware that there were private owners on the field where he also had a rental contract from the state-- things were fine. But there are others around here that are much bigger players, who already attacked another local farmer (himself a pretty big farmer), and if we have to get in to conflict with them, the habits we have may pay off. Thanks all to the EU and its direct payment system in agriculture that let's people who get cheap state rental contracts make a fortune mulching grass...

Speaking of guns, tomorrow morning is the first shooting competition of the year at the club. I anticipate a low turnout due to sub-zero temperatures-- maybe, if low enough, I can get in to the top 3. :)

Happy St Paddy’s Day

66°F and no rain.

Perhaps some more mowing after I change my flail belts.

Prayers for all

Be safe
Have a great day
