Don- I do not know what this guy would do after catching a rabbit??? It is reported that he chases cats. He definitely wanted a piece of that squirrel taunting him from the bird feeder area. I have more questions than answers.

I have lots of questions about his auto-immune disorder and if one follows the holistic treatment it is essentially what you are posting about- an essentially plant based diet.

It will turn out as usual that the dogs will be treated better than their owners.

It is a bad mistake to teach a large breed, big pawed dog "shake" and "other paw." It's the dog training the owner once they figure "the trick" part out. And a big paw can cause injury. I/We "de-train" that behavior. Training initiated as well as face staring at the dinner table.

Honestly it feels like he has always been here.

Operation "Brogen" completed, we returned home w/o incident. He immediately found some toys from dogs long time over the Rainbow Bridge and had a few drinks of water. New goobers are everywhere. One never really knows for sure what one is "rescuing." For a leash puller and runner he seemed pretty tame walking part the property perimeter. He was a city dog which probably works to my advantage with all the smells out here. He has some known medical issues and we do not have any records yet. He's a good boy and a Momma's Boy as well. We'll see.
Cute dog

Got home from another college visit to AR. Also feeling much better today, for the 600 miles today. Tired.
Guess what was waiting on my kitchen counter.

Jack- Thanks. You know St, B.'s and/or big dog drool behavior. So far he is not a puller. Once this poor, neglected guy got pulled from his original neglectful home (male) environment he was fostered by women who may have been influenced by his size and strength as he came to my wife and I at adoption with a choke chain and shock collar (precautionary). He's definitely a "Momma's Boy (wh*re). So far he is a "normal" dog with the leash and choke chain behavior. I'll keep with the choke chain for awhile. I've already had a St. B. "Nantucket Sleigh ride" with a previous St. B. chasing a woodchuck. We'll all see what happens. The other female St. B. that we had expressed interest may be placed elsewhere. She needed rescue ASAP. We'll see. The "Rescue Group" apparently likes us. We see another dog in our futures once it's clear "Brogen" is settled.

Good evening all, 39F for the start this morning, overcast, and near calm wind. Intermittent drizzle, light breeze and overcast through the day, high temp 49F, current temp reading. As I thought , head winds for 40 miles damped the enthusiasm for the century ride. While Saturday was 78 actual miles, Sunday was 41 miles so 190 miles for the weekend. Sunday's ride home started with A/c on, was turned off about and hour north, and some heat was on before Stephenville. WBS back on duty today, drizzle canceled plans to mow, choir practice, found choir is sing at a memorial service. Will warm up overnight ride and mow tomorrow.

Hope the wind is at your back next time.

The cool front was kind of stalled and just north maybe to Don's house it was maybe 15-20 degrees cooler for a while. But alas, back in the mid 80's by supper.

Eric, do the English have an alternative name for dinner, like some here in the south use supper?
