Well, I decided to go with the Kenda K472 tires. Mowing season is about on us, so I will be trying them out soon. Thanks for all of your replies. I will update after using them for a while.

How are these tires for backing up in soft dirt? We have a wet slope to mow and the oem turf tires often fail us.

Finally got to try out the new tires. I can tell a big difference in the mower already. They provide great traction and don't tear up the turf if you pay attention to your turns.

Thanks to all for your experience and opinions.

What PSI are you running? Grasshoppers require 8 PSI, which might lower your ride height too much. The low pressure really softens the ride and improves traction.

Those K472's look just like my AT101's

Currently I am running around 18psi. I think the tire max pressure is 22.

Yea, my Country Clipper manual calls for 12 psi. The max rating on a tire's sidewall is not necessarily what your piece of equipment requires, same as automobiles. At 18 psi I wouldn't be able to go very long on my rough, hilly yard.

My tire's max pressure is 22 psi also, but GH manual calls for 8 psi. GH even adds a small sticker on the rims by each valve stem with "8psi" on it as a reminder, since most people probably just air up close to max. They squat quite a bit with only 8 psi, and always look 'low' but they sure ride nice, have great traction, and wear very evenly.

I put some like that on my Craftsman and while it gave good traction to keep me out of my pond, it will dig a hole in the grass in a heartbeat if I get aggressive on a turn. The Craftsman is so light that the tires spin easily, it may not be that much of a problem with your heavier mower, but with weight, comes more traction and more digging ability, so just be careful.
