a chilly 35 degrees with a possible snow flurry this morning, but that big rain system is now headed offshore, looks like between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain here. This morning I go out to see if anything washed away in the garden.
L4N, I just take pics of the seeds on top for fun, to see the different types of seed. In that planting mix, I take the round end of a magic marker and press the seed down about half an inch and then cover and lightly tamp down. Then in to the kitchen where I water the seedling tray gently with warm water from the sprayer.
Feeling lazy, unlikely to get much done today. Going to go back into the 80's this coming weekend, and the lawn is greening. I ran the new mower for about an hour yesterday creating great clouds of dust, which for sure is all gone now, considering there are big pools of water out in the lawn.
Yes, I agree, Gloria yawning has me yawning too. Best wishes to Andrew's family.
Today is my day to think over cars. Changing cars the current dealer way would cost me a lot of money. Pretty sure I'm going to tell them to just wait and when I sell my Jaguar and the Outback, then I'll come back and buy a car from them, since their trade in values are so crummy as to not motivate me to take the easy way out for sure. When they offered me half of what I thought was fair for my older car, I knew this would be a struggle. I think what annoys me the most is after I said I wasn't buying a car with thousands of dollars of extra unwanted equipment on it, the sales mgr sends me quotes back on an over equipped car and asks "your thoughts?". Well, he probably doesn't want to know exactly what I'm thinking because it's not complimentary... And almost 900 bucks a month to lease a compact Q5 is utterly nuts. I didn't get any residual info, have no idea where he came up with that number. My first home mortgage was less than that...
Car dealers, no matter the veneer of respectability, are still miserable to deal with. Only exception was buying my Subaru; they seemed to make it easy...of course the car I bought was fully equipped and without options and no hoops to jump through. After the numbers I was given yesterday, my Outback is looking better all the time. But I do need something bigger and more comfortable to drive West this Fall.
Since I only got as far as Jackson MS in my aborted motorhome trip....remember that? but I'm going to drive it in a comfortable car and stay at hotels. California here I come. Physically I could not do this without some kind of driving aid, so my focus is on Cadillac's Super Cruise, which no one else has, but they put the gizmo in their most expensive loaded car, natch, which makes it unaffordable. I want Super Cruise in a 50k compact SUV.... this is why I may not buy a car any more and just lease. Tech is going to drive our cars more and more.
Which is why we all need a 1967 Camaro RS with a 327 and a four speed in our garage.
