The wife gave me an ultimatum .............

I thought that you mentioned "parring" down your collection when I last saw a photo, hence my "if you still have them all"
She's prolly right eh?

I like that logic....

Factory reconditioned Poulan Pro PP4218A: 0.75 cord of wood to get return on investment!

Yeah but after 0.75 cord it's ready to be "reconditioned" again.

hmmmm......Echo chainsaws....I mean "donuts". I owned the old ones when they were white. I hope they improved speed wise.

I bought one in 2008 when about all that I was cutting was a few cords of firewood. It was a great saw for 5 years... the problem is that I kept it for 7.

Granted it was a little heavy; but that came in handy when I needed ballast to help out in snow. And rather than finding the chain speed to be an issue, it was handy to be able to sharpen it while I was cutting. ;)

The good thing for me though, is that I can leave it in the back of the truck and nobody will steal it. I lost my best two axes that way once; I parked and jumped in with someone else, when we got back at the end of the day they were gone.

I’ve thought about having some Poulan wild thing stickers made for my 372xp. I think it would be funny and theft would be less likely.

Yeah, you'd think so. I'd have thought so, too. However, over the last 10 years, I'm 60 cords into it at my house. That's 4-500 telephone pole-size trees, 80% of which are locust, the rest cherry and sassafras. Locus is some hard stuff. Plus some side jobs for friends and relatives and a couple "free" 36"+ maples (that I'll never do again). I'm on my third bar and have maybe 7 chains that I sharpen on a Harbor Freight $29 sharpener. Only repairs so far were about 20 cents of fuel line and a $50 coil after shipping. So I'm in it for about $100 for the saw, maybe $75 for chains, $50 for the coil, and $30 for the sharpener, so that's what? $255 total for about 65 cords of wood over 10 years. So about $3.45 per cord in equipment costs. Who'd a thunk it?

Of course, I didn't put a value on my time, and that's gotta be a lot more than using a larger saw, but heck! It works for me in my timeframe and budget.

Back in high school I knew a guy that put Chevy 250 fender badges on his 396 70's Nova.... not too many people fell for it once he hit the key.

Those are some nice looking logs. I was in Auburn yesterday, and couldn't believe how little snow there is compared to what is up here.

A skidder 's got nuthin on you Old P. I put chains on the fronts of one of my tractors. Improved traction by 30%. Then again I had ladders all around instead of the "Talon" type chains.. Love your "forwarder".
