Just make sure you know your road can accept delivery of your new tractor

If the driver of the lowboy had time to remove the tractor from the lowboy, he could just use it to push the trailer on across the tracks. With reduced weight on the trailer it just might be easy enough to just push it over the hump. Usually there is not enough time for all of this to happen, which is why it happens.

The way that the tractor blew off the trailer like it wasn't chained down, they may have tried to do just that.

I had also wondered if they attempted to unload either tractor, looked like they could have driven the pair of them off the side with no damage. I agree with then using one tractor to pull the truck clear.

I have never, ever seen that low clearance signage. It does open a whole new can of worms. If a truck has made it over 99 such crossings and the 100th is a little different, and an accident occurs, who is responsible. With a bridge, the clearance is more or less understandable.
I have seen many.

Or the driver could have called a tow truck and had the tractor/trailer removed from the crossing before the train got there.

Funny all the could've would've, should've comments. I haven't seen anything that indicates the truck was stuck for very long before the train showed up.
