It may be time to take the Cummins in for service (injectors and injection pump), it should have handled that load a little easier.
That might be true. Consider this though. I'm guessing on the truck and trailer.
Truck weight 6000 pounds
Trailer weight 6000 pounds
Tractor/ballast box 10,000 pounds
chains, binders, fuel, all fluids, me/wife, some other crap in the back of the truck. maybe 1500 pounds all together.
That's 23500 pounds. The climb I was going up had up to 7% grades for 10-13 miles. I do not know my gear ratio's off hand but I believe they are taller that low. I think the truck did OK. When I go sledding with my 18' enclosed trailer and two sleds I can pull any hill and maintain 65 mph no problem. I will add on level ground I was going 70 mph with the cruise on just fine.
I do know a very good diesel mechanic and I'll talk to him about it though.:thumbsup:
