There was no activity on my first feeder for a few days then it was sucked dry in 2 days. So I put up a second one on the other side of the house last night and got buzzed when I went past it today. I use organic sugar, I only attract the granola hummingbird variety.
Saw my first one 2 days ago...earlier than normal but weather was such that it finally warmed up with a very strong south wind and we were alerted that that tail-wind would bring them any day. They arrived the same day as a few male rose-breasted grosbeaks (also a few days ahead of normal but they had the strong tail-wind also). A few other males showed up the next day. No females yet.

Here in the UP of Michigan, we just put our feeders out. According to the migration map, they are still a ways south of us but they are always further along than when people actually see them and on da map. We kind of like seeing them again.
