Rounded off drain plug

To the original poster, I'd suggest if/when you take the tractor to the welder to get the plug removed, ask them if they can drill/burn a hole in the support so in the future you can get a socket on it.

Might have to do some bracing of the sides on the support if its got a hole drilled in it but thats a neat idea while the equipment is out and running at the weld shop.

Or simply use a hex headed pipe plug.

Indeed. Waiting on stuff to ship. While the tires are off, I figured i may as well add to the project and look at doing the brakes. Simply can't be happy with one thing. New rim is on the way.

I saw a construction reality show a few years back and the homeowner shot a nail into his hand. They showed it. Cut to commercial and he's right back at it with a bandage the size of a salami. It was so painful to watch I flipped the channel.

I admire the patients of Kando. It has been over a month now and that plug is still in there. That would drive me insane! At this point I would roll the tractor on it's back and drain the fluid out of the fill hole. Assuming I could get the cap off.

I would have done something by now... most likely which would have caused me even more problems.

Well, if he's a doc as in MD that would explain everything and we need to cut him a whole lot more slack. Not because of the MD but because he's wired different and doesn't go through the same process we do in solving problems. He's never been here and done that but just needs some experience and before long will be doing the same things we are. Where I had planned on dropping this thread, I now sense a new degree of interest that will keep me riveted. This thread will go on a very long time because, if he's an MD will need OJT and life experience to solve the obvious.

If he's not an MD, I got nothin'.

We probably should cut Kando some slack. We all have things that seem to never get done. With me there is nothing more permanent than something I did temporary just to get by. As the old saying goes.
