Well dang. Thats what it seemed like to me, I just figured I must be wrong.

Possible, but my dealer was telling me they were all the same frame. And that matches the weights on tractordata.com. They get 100-200lbs heavier as they get more power. 4 bigger tires & a bigger front axle match that more than frame changes. The bigger tires make them seem bigger as they go up.

The heaviest L3560 is 3880lbs, the heaviest L6060 is 4365lbs.

The big drive for a 60hp Grand is PTO work, especially a bigger mower as it doesnt have that much more traction than a L3560.

There is a difference is in the front axle frame. This frame bolts to the engine and front axle is supported by it. L3560 is different than the L4060. It appears to be thinner material, but does have additional bracing that the 4060 does not have. Front axle is the same in the 3560 vs 4060. Front axle assembly gets bigger in the L4760. HST case, mid case and transmission case is the same for all grand L 60's. These tractors do not have a frame like what comes in a truck. Engine and driveline housings are the frame for the most part. The L3560 is shorter than the others because the engine is shorter. Three cylinder vs four. Cab is the same for all of them.

My L3560 came with the LA805 loader. Somebody incorrectly stated the L3560 only comes with the small loader. Not true. You can option this on the Kubota page.

With R4 tires the L3560 and L4060 have the exact same front tire. The rear r4 tire is smaller on the L3560. I have r4's and the rear end width measure right at 72" wide with the rim set at the wide position. Axle gear ratios are different between the two. Outer housing on the rear axle are also different to account for different gear spacing. Same axle shafts. I think the larger versions starting with the 4760 use different shafts with more wheel studs for beefier wheels.

You can look at the exploded diagrams on the Kubota web page to see the differences in these tractors. All parts are listed and can be compared.

Thank you for the excellent information! I agree that the 3560 is available with both small and midsize loader, however the midsize loader comes with a slightly larger bucket standard. Makes sense I guess. How wide do you think your tractor would be with the tires turned narrow? I understood the 3560 could be configured as a 5' wide tractor which is what I am looking for. IS this correct? How do you like your 3560? Does it seem to have enough power to get the job done?

Thanks for all the replies, lots of information!

Here's an L3560 with a 5' mower and below is a Yanmar YT235 with a 5' mower. Both are 35hp and both mowers fit perfect. Both available with cabs and A/C.

I know this is mostly an orange, red, and blue tractor site, so you won't get many replies about Deere tractors. You know Deere makes a 46 hp tractor with a cab that is under 5' wide? This past winter I replaced my 30 hp 4310 with a 46 hp 3046R, both open station. Both of the tractors are used on the road a lot, and the horsepower difference is amazing. The 3046R literally hauls ***** up hills. For your uses, best off to buy the highest horsepower in the size tractor you need.

Thank you! I looked at a YT235 with a cab just this week. Its a nice tractor but doesnt have some features I am looking for. Perfect size tho. I think the 3560l is probably the tractor for me. But I am still a couple weeks off being done with this B2601 so who knows.

I TRIED to buy a deere, but the 3 series cabbed tractors are very unavailable around the south. Not sure why. Not even one within 500 miles to go look at to see if I want the dealer to order one for me. On paper they do look very nice, but I cant order simply off paper. We have to see what she looks like in person. I think the JD ehyrdo is pretty smooth, very similar to the kubota HST plus and the Kioti HST (not sure the version but electric over hydro). That is definitely something I want. Thanks for the reply, those are nice machines I bet.

Ya, when I was looking, I was impressed by how smooth the JD HST was. Hard to beat the 2 speed HST+ though. Which was one of the main reasons I stuck with Kubota.

The JDs were a little smaller/lighter than Kubota, but could come in high HP versions. The main use for those small high HP machines is mowing or tilling. The HP exceeded traction a fair bit. Lift was less than Kubota. But it was a tight package that was manuverable.

Try searching used. I bought mine used with 40 hrs on it. 3% Deere financing, 200 bux for three years full coverage insurance, saved about 6 grand, but most importantly saved six months wait on a new one. I don't need 6 years to pay for it, so the 0 percent on new is not that attractive. If I take my loan all the way out to the full term, it will cost about 900 bux in interest.

I found a couple used ones but they are not close by either. One that is close by, is a fair deal but has a back hoe with it. I have no need for a BH, not sure what the market is for a used 3 series BH so I didn't make the 4 hr drive to take a look at it. Not to mention, it is NOT at a dealer so financing is out of the question, I really dont want to burn thru all my cash to buy a tractor when I can buy for very low to no interest from a dealer.
