I have a really hard time with fools and bullies. Dude would have been invoiced for the hay, plus the tractor time and labor for the people that came in and did the work before he helped himself. If he didn't pay, then I would probably have taken him to court.
I get along great with my neighbors. I take care of the 1 1/2 acre field next door just to work my tractor and keep it looking nice. Place is a rental, and the tenants usually don't have the equipment to maintain it. If I think about it, I'll invoice the owner for a mowing.
The neighbors on my other side are on the north side of 70 with the usual health issues and physical ailments to go with it. I trim there trees, haul heavy stuff around there yard with the tractor, and mow for them when they aren't able.
This same couple has flattened my fence a couple times when trees have gotten away from them. They are guaranteed to be more upset about it then I am. Last time it happened, he came running over apologizing about the fence and the downed tree in my yard. I just laughed, told him not to worry about it, cut the tree up, and fixed the fence real quick.

Yes, this is important before DB Pilot takes a firm stand.
I get along with all of my neighbors. The last one that bought to the south thought our property line was towards my parcel a fair amount more than it was. He later told me he was going to have the line surveyed so we both knew and as it turns out it was about 15 to 20 feet closer to his house in the woods than either one of us thought. I knew where the corner at the beach was and the SW corner, but there was no line of sight between them so it was hard to tell. On the downside, the survey was recorded, my parcel was increased in size by the county and my taxes went up. Careful what you wish for. Bummer.
I own my tide flats to extreme low tide and if any neighbor wants to spend the time to mark where those lines in the sand are, more power to them. I am the only one that plants shellfish and I stay well within where I think the lines are so it is no big deal.

^^^This sure sounds like Washington which I have found is very aggressive when it comes to property tax... years ago I posted about my taxes going from $600 a month to $1000 a month and the $600 was based on what I paid 18 months prior.
Surveys that are well marked can solve a lot of problems...
Did have a problem in Oakland where the neighbor's 19 year old son and his friends had basically taken over the walk down the side of my property to my cottage in the back...
I hired a fence company to install chain link and he was run off... said he would not go back because next door threatened his life... my truck was also broken in while they were all there in the time it took me to walk the 35 feet to the front door and carry out my Sawzall... 5 "Youths" were sitting on the steps and started laughing as I was sweeping up the broken glass.
I put the property up for sale and it sold it closed in 22 days... never a sign... just tired of replacing shot out windows and patching bullet holes... even made the 10 o'clock news.
Pick your battles...

Whoa!!!! Stop the presses. GOEDUCK - I'm reading your post #147 and something isn't making sense. Are you ACTUALLY saying that Kitsap Co did not know how big your property actually is - and you are being taxed on some "Unknown/assumed property size". Man -O-Godfries - somebody doesn't have their S-H-I-T together.
It must mean that Kitsap Co assessors are levying taxes on properties of "assumed" sizes.
This is akin to having a family member die from an operation and then finding out that the operating physician is not really a doctor.

They probably increased both of our parcel sizes to get more revenue :mur: Who would ever know? I hate it when government calls taxes revenue.
