Yeah but that's no fun... no welding. Actually the plastic fitting even through the steel drum is probably a smarter idea.... dang it.

Maybe no WELDING fun, but it should hold - it's good for 150 psi, and unless that 55 gallon drum gets pressurized with an air hose it's NEVER gonna see more than 2 psi (2.2 ft of water level = 1 psi)... Steve

BTW, here it is cheaper, but shipping makes it same as Amazon (if you have "Prime", that is - otherwise ebay's cheaper delivered.

Ok after a night down the banjo trail and then I got on a rabitt trail, one picture lead to another then this came up>>RAINPAL RBS5 Brass Water Container/Rain Barrel Quarter Turn Spigot(Lead Fre... 6814414532 | eBay (RAINPAL RBS005 Brass Water Container/Rain Barrel Quarter Turn Spigot) Comes with all one needs to hook up garden hose, turns on and turns off, boy that was a search. Now all thats needed is a 7/8" hole making device, step drill would be ideal if I had one.

The GOOD news - that "blue top ladder" isn't there to reach the latch, it wuz just there to hang the reel - I'm 6' tall, and can just reach the latch from the floor - as I get older and "stoopier" I can always LOWER the whole thing a bit, one reason why I'll be BOLTING the new receiver to that upright instead of welding it...

Oh, and I remember your recycled caster hose reel, thought it was pretty slick - I just prefer one that locks the swivel - if you notice in the first pic in that post, see the black power cord reel below the air hose? That one swivels, no lock, and if you're CAREFUL and play "fishing reel level winder" you can just BARELY get it all to rewind. Let it swing on its own, and NO WAY you'll get it rewound without jamming up - my "level wind" method takes BOTH HANDS if the reel can swivel, but only one hand if it's locked... Steve

I see part of the problem in our design differences, your 6' and 5'5", you'd be banging your head around on some of my setups. I have a similar power cord reel, that to has the auto swivel feature, haven't yet pulled the cord all the way out but will test that ("fishing reel level winder")tomorrow, just to see if I have the new improved 7777 version. If so then I should be able to swing the line all over the place and still whined the cord back in without spilling my coffee, all the way in.

Yes Bingo, now I have to use my imagination to make a 7/8" hole, a step drill bit would work great but the ones I see are on the other side of the country, I dont think I can get one here in one week, that's why I always look where I'm buying from on ebay, I've gotten stuff in one-four days from the east coast, west coast is much longer, I might as well have you bring yours over while your on your way to Bah hahbah.
