Kubota parts and supplies are RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE

I bit the bullet today and ordered a new fan from Messicks. Saved $20 but I still think that was too high for a little piece of plastic. Oh well, I could be buying a radiator and I'm sure that would be a little more.

You beat me two it, TBone. You were right not to operate with the damaged blade. Bite the bullet and don't look back. In a few months you'll barely remember the pain. Besides, you'll need something else by then.

I agree with the other comments. Kubota's not alone. Inventory cost and convenience are issues, of course, but OEM replacement parts are a high profit center across brands. I recently had to replace the plastic fuel cap on my Kioti NX due to carelessly driving off with it on top of my front tire. $46, with shipping. And that was from Messicks!

Does a Kubota L-2501 have a heat gauge?

I am not particularly worried obout overheating. My concern is that the imbalanced broken fan will grenade and take out the radiator. Glad to see that common sense prevailed.

And if that didn’t happen the imbalanced fan is hard on the bearings.

I live in Canada and I buy parts for my Zetor in Chech republic ( Europe ) Even with transport and customs it is cheaper than buying in Canada.
2 new fuel filters $4.50 4 fuel lines $15.00 Clutch plate $40.00 Air filter $15.00 radiator cap $3.00 air seat membrane $10.00 small stuff is only pennies.
And the Chech have their mark up too! Takes 14 days after the order is placed to deliver at home.

Yep. The latch broke on my "Kubota" tool box - the little plastic one behind the seat. I checked and a replacement was $80 !!!
That's just plain ridiculous. I went to Lowes and bought a bigger Kobalt box that fits perfectly - $7. Seven Dollars. 7.

Shop Kobalt 17-in Plastic Tool Box (Blue) at Lowes.com

The only problem is the Blue Kobalt box sticks out like a sore thumb on the Orange Kubota. Makes me want to go buy a New Holland.
Should have gone to Home Depot. Their orange "Homer box" matches Kubota orange pretty well. Was double the size of the tiny black plastic box on my old L3200.

I hate the sound of those things. I’d gladly pay the price for a OEM replacement assuming I couldn’t find a knockoff before I did that.

If you financed it it may be covered by KTAC. Not sure if your damage would be covered but others have said theirs was.

$250 deductible.
