The article states that the downfall of Sears meant $1B (billion!) loss in Husqvarna sales.

The article states it's the author's guess that they mean Sears, but Sears was never mentioned by Husqvarna.

Interesting. I drove by my dealer recently and saw that they had stopped stocking Husq. and instead stocked Redmax riders. Makes sense now.

I thought Husqvarna owned Redmax.

What's the difference between MTD buying up brands and Husqvarna buying up brands?

They do....that`s why i posted it. Would make sense to me to see Husq dealers transitioning to the Redmax brand.

350 hours is all I have been able to get out of the lawn tractors in the 24 to 26HP range anyway. Four years and I have to junk them.. I hope they are not calling a 2654 a "premium tractor" because they don't last any longer than anything else. I have been through three of them in short order. Next one will be commercial for me.. Running an air cooled twin cylinder for four hours in 90F heat, it's not going to last long, liquid cooled is the only way for anything to last in the heat..
