Husqvarna quitting consumer grade mowers

Teachu2, I'm very glad to learn that the Husqvarna dealers will continue to sell commercial-grade machines. I'd hate to know that I have no support for the numerous Husqvarna machines that I have. I'm still left wondering if they will continue to sell the small equipment line such as string trimmers, chain saws, etc. Do you have an info on that side?

I believe they are only exiting the POS rider market niche.

They are still making chainsaws. They have one of the leading saw lines in the world. They are not walking away from that.

Yes they do and I agree there is no way they would leave that market with the following they have. Good saws. - - - from a Stihl diehard even.

I think I misunderstood. I'm now thinking Husqvarna branded mowers will continue, while the Poulan, McCulloch, etc and store brands are being dumped.
Good for the Husqvarna name - building anything to a price point is a brutal business model.

I have confirmed exactly what you said with our local Husqvarna Authorized Dealer, i.e. Husqvarna is discontinuing "residential" use hand held products they now produce, specifically Poulan. They are not discontinuing Husqvarna labeled machinery.

There's a 20% discount on Husqvarna products this Saturday, October 27th. Time to check my equipment inventory!
