Why can't I find a part number for an oil filter???

I hear you. My local dealer got pushed out of the brand by Kubota (jerks) and the closest one now is about an hour away........

Just curious. When I saw that you were located in Sperryville, I checked the Kubota dealer locator and found there were dealers in Warrenton, Manassas, and Culpeper. What gives?

Two of those three is out of Kubota, the two closest dealers that stock tractor supplies are in Winchester (about 1.5 hours away from my actual home) and the one in Culpeper is about two hours. The guys in Manassas are good, but I use them to order parts only. They dont' have much stock in tractor supplies.

I'll check on Messicks, thanks!!! I'm actually picking up an additional rear hydro valve and level set tomorrow in Manassas. I'll see if they have UDT2 fluid and filters. I do prefer to use OEM products when they are available. And honestly I like to use dealers to do servicing. But that's not always practical. My local John Deere dealers straight up told me they did not want to service or work on my 500C backhoe. They don't have muche experience with "yellow machines" as they put it :(

I know we all like doing things our way but my guess is most tractor owners either stop by or call dealer or parts store and tell them they need oil (motor), hyd, air and fuel filters (what ever filter or filters they need) and the brand and model...Also many filters have the filter number on them.

You may get away with lube oil and hydraulic pump filters using off brands but many times there is no correct cross substitution if you are looking for the hydrostatic charge pump filter.

Then there are some of us who live 16 miles from a freaking dealer and 6 miles from a auto parts store where we can buy a good quailty oil filter.

Some of us do not have the deep pockets we can waste the price of 2 gallons of gasoline going to a dealer for a freaking oil filter.

If you buy on Amazon you pay 8.35 for a good wix filter and 12.29 for a Kubota branded filter. I my self trust a know who made the wix filter over the the lord only knows who made the Kubota filter. Also saved nearly $4.00 too.

I am finding that owners of Compact tractors like to spend money.

Hi,

Messicks has a nice video comparison on Kubota and Wix filters and should convince most orange tractor buyers and owners to buy OEM. By the looks of the Kubota filter my money says Fleetguard/Cummins as the manufacturer. Anyone know for certain?

I have found this link to be very useful when I need part numbers. Kubota provides lots of information on their website. Hope this helps.
