Grumpy, that's a really well built, nice looking tool you have.

Nice job on your carryall rbstern. I have the same issue with the front end getting light - I hope to hear soon when my loader will be delivered to get the weight on the front to balance things out.

For those looking for modular ballast - there are plenty of weight sets out there on CL for cheap or free! I got a universal weight set with 300# of stackable steel weights for $20. The steel framework will find a place eventually as well.

Nice job GrumpyJoe! Is there any support for your receiver hitch on the back, or bolted directly to board? I'm wanting to do this on my wood carryall but mine will require some support I think... course I'm not planning on hauling vehicles around with it only a splitter or wagon. I'd also need to secure my carryall to the 3pt steel carryall so the wood part doesn't pull right off :)

GJ,
That looks like the carry all at TSC and is what I am likely going to purchase. My plan is to build something like you have shown but on a pallet so I can easily remove it and be able to use the carry all as a pallet mover for firewood.

Nice job on yours!

Its bolted directly to the board. Splitters don't weigh that much so I'm not worried.

I did get it at TSC. I have a set of pallet forks for the bucket that I use to bring firewood into the basement. I built sides on two different pallets that I use to stack firewood and casters to makes it easier to move around the basement. IMG_20170903_121528 (1).jpg

My thought is to put the pallet on two of the Harbor Freight dollies so I can stack firewood onto cut down pallets and not be restacking The dollies go on sale for $8 ea.

I just finished my carry-all that I will use as a loader work platform, wood hauler.
