Same here with a Gator I went to look at... licensed and insured... California of all places!

Long ago I met a contractor who had license plates on his Case 580C, a big tractor/loader/backhoe. He said he was forced to license it so he could legally drive between jobs. So apparently its possible.

My friend had a Honda Utv licensed to be on road. He checked on his rental property down the road with it.

I see nearly as many 'buggies' (as they are referred to in my neck of the woods) as anything else on the 2 lane black top with lines that runs in front of my house, more so on a weekend... legal or not, they run the he!! out of 'em, and I dont hear of tickets getting written unless they are going REALLY fast or drunk.

Yep! I figured it would take about 5 minutes for that to happen. That diesel is severely downrated for UTV use. I'm sure someone will have "road legal" kits available shortly for those states where UTVs can be licensed.

Even though I own FCA product, (RAM 1500 ecodiesel) It wouldn't break my heart to see Fiat go back to Italy.
The little jeep from India would bean interesting vehicle, my thinking would be the potential increase in the number of old rusted out mb's that could be resurrected all of a sudden,
new frames, new bodies, new engines, old ID's. :cool2:
My suspicion is FCA is just afraid of any completion.

Besides trucks, and a couple cool looking fast cars, wranglers are about the only thing that company makes that anyone wants. They are proud of them too!

Went to see one last night. We bought a used Wrangler about two months ago for about the same $$$. It had 93k miles, air, heat, windshield, washers, cab, turn signals, street legal and off road capable, and parts are easy to get.

Glad we got the Jeep

It wouldn't be long before M&M got there foot in the door enough to try a road legal version. Jeep wouldn't like having a 75% Wrangler show up for about $20,000. That would definitely hurt their sales.

You are right though. Anyone with a title and remnants of a CJ3, CJ5 or flattie could do a little serial number transplant and be mighty happy about it.
