You're daft. no one would do that......

For the record, this was not my idea.

To accept a trailer ball for moving trailers around? Sounds like a reasonable idea unless I'm missing something.

Drill the hole and then weld a stiffener onto the bottom side of the fork.

Good luck and be careful out there.

I highly recommend against it. I did this on my old forks and the one with the hole and trailer ball over time got bent down. Not a lot but enough to make picking up pallets difficult. I never could get it straightened so I eventually got new forks and welded up a trailer mover that slips over both forks.

Exact same thing happened to me....

Cutting branches directly overhead while standing on a raised FEL bucket..... get hit by the branch first and get knocked off the FEL second. I hope someone had a phone to call 911.

Like I said, wasn't my idea. However, the 2 branches being cut were long but skinny (see pic) and were hanging straight down by just a thread of bark--they got torn by a storm--and the tips were almost touching the ground. So not quite as dangerous perhaps as it appears at first glance. I could pick them up with one hand, so prolly not enough heft to seriously hurt anyone. In any case, I hired pros to do it, this was their best idea, and it was done without mishap. (This same crew also took down a dangerous, big heavy branch that had fallen on my house in the same storm, and they took all precautions, used ropes, sawed each branch into a zillion pieces starting at the ends, etc., and took hours to do it.)
