I understand the comment about front/back plates and only applying to the state you're registered in, but this is not always true. In SC we do not register trailers at all. I got pulled over in Indiana on my way to Colorado and ticketed for being out of state without trailer plates. News to me. Learned the hard way that just because your state does not require something doesn't mean you're good in another jurisdiction.
I'd get the cab lights just because I like them anyway and no way I'm paying $65k for a big truck without them, but I'm a redneck like that anyway. If I were the OP and had any questions and planned to two out of state at some point, I'd probably just go ahead and get them just in case...
