Yep! My driveway is 35°....my trail is mostly 45° ....I'm cutting into a knob/very big hill that is mostly 60°
Driveway maxes at 70% grade/ 35° slope.

Trail is currently 100% grade/ 45° slope....I'm hoping to reduce this when i get to where I'm going by taking dirt from the top and lengthening out the bottom part.

My knob is insanely steep which is the reason for the trail.....which is why I bought the tractor. You cant literally hold your hands out and touch the ground in front of you as you hike up it.....okay for me...but not ok for most people.

Tiptoo, I forgot about this, but reading your thread jogged my memory. Don't know if you have ever visited "Falling Waters" the Frank Lloyd Wright home.

My wife toured the house, I went on a walk about on the grounds. They have various trials through steep terrain and to divert the water, they placed (recessed) guard rail sections flat on the trail at a angle. Water comes down the hill, hits the channel in the guard rail and water gets diverted.

Figure if it is good enough for Frank"s land, good idea for others.

Yes!! That's a great idea. I'm a ways away from tackling the water issues as I'm still just cutting a rough trail. Just crossing my fingers for now.

Awesome reading this. Love the fact that you are doing almost everything that everyone else is telling you not to do! too funny.

I'd also be worried about starving the engine of oil at extreme angles. ;)
I asked a question earlier today...then just reread most the posts....and saw your very true statement....I'm starting to get worried.....any solutions to not starve the engine of oil???

Yeah. Don't go on hills that are steeper than the oil pickup.

Sounds like a flippant comment, not meant to be. But other than having the engine set up for acrobatics like they do with airplanes, there's just some limits that you shouldn't exceed. A lot of it has to do with how the oil pan is shaped, where the pickup tube is located, and where the oil return ports are located in the head, too.

Best thing to do is find the engine manufacturer's data on what angles the engine can be operated on.

I would also supplement the oil pressure idiot light with a oil pressure gauge so that you can see exactly where your oil pressure is when you're operating on such slopes. Then you can see better if the engine starts to starve for oil and know what kind of a slope you can run on.

I believe my tractor manual says to add an extra quart of oil above full for steep operation,,,
might want to check the manual.

An Oil Accumulator might work for you

Auto racers use them as well as some hard core offroaders

Great for short periods of oil starvation

ones like Accusump claim 15-60 seconds of low pressure coverage (protection) before the sump needs to pick up more oil and recharge the accumulator.

They work good as pre lubers also to virtually eliminate start up wear.
