What Toilet Brand Would Buy??

I got one of these for my mother and she loves it.

Crane ECO FLUSH power assisted 1.6 gal. I have two. Best toilets I ever owned. They have never plugged up. The spray pattern in the bowl keeps the toilet completely clean. Never any brown stripes in the bowl. The wife loves how clean they stay. Later.

For the rentals I found some Kohler Seats... they were marked $35 and then half off...

Have to say zero problems and tenants can be very hard on things like toilet seats...

The hinge is the weak link...

Well,, the Amazon/UPS delivered Toto arrived,, and as feared,,,

YEP, that is a BIG hole in the box holding the toilet bowl,,, over 6 inches across,,,:confused2:
but, with a little luck, the hole occurred in a meaningless area, after unpacking, all was well. PHEW!!

My SIL came over 15 minutes after delivery,, I tore out the old one, he read the instructions and he carried the pieces to the adjoining room.

Total time for tear out, and full install including the water line and seat was under one hour. WOOT!! NO LEAKS!!:thumbsup:

The photo is deceptive, the seat color is a perfect match to the toilet,, the camera just captures the image incorrectly.

This TOTO is the model with VORTEX action rather than water going straight down,,,

It has two ports like this,,,

This TOTO has a totally different type valve than our other two TOTO's,,,
The first two have a simple flapper,,
the new one has some sophisticated up and down traveling valve,, no pivoting,,,

The project is complete,, except for initial test,,,
The family recommended I treat everyone to Taco Bell,,, to speed up the time to the first test,,,,

I ran out and got a couple pounds of barbeque at the local 'QUE shop,,, we went through a LOT of sauce,,,

Now,,, the wait,,,,, :dance1: LOL!!

I had picked up a "glacier bay" store brand dual flush from Home Depot in a quick fix situation about 2 years ago. It has worked better and has a better finish than our other Kohler toilet. I like it enough that 2 more of them will be going in the new home we are building.

I put in 3 of those and planning on a 4th. Like the #1 button for light loads. Dont want to put anymore water in septic tank than needed. Already wash clothes, showers etc.

I am just the opposite,, I think LOTS of water helps the septic tank,,
the material needs oxygen to decompose,, water bringing in oxygen is the only way for oxygen to get in the tank.

We actually have an outside floor drain that runs some rainwater into the septic tank.
Not a lot, but, some from rain that goes down the basement steps,
