did you order the single joy stick or the double handle ?

Single joy stick.
The one this loader came with used to be a double handle, but the rods have been broken off and welded and broken off again, and it’s all rusted up.

So I saw what Hoye sells, and was going to buy that one but decided to look around.
There are 10gpm and 12gpm versions, so I went with the 12.

And your tractor won't come close to ever producing more than 5gpm!! Haha. I'm pretty sure it's more like 3.5gpm.

I wonder if its hard to feather a delicate lowering of the loader when valve capacity is much larger than pump capacity. Anybody know?

Fair enough, I figured opportunity for more flow would be better.
Oh well. I can always go to a smaller one if needed.

It could be a possibility, but when I find out I’ll be sure to let you know! Haha

I see your point and I usually think that way but when the option that was listed is over 2x what you could ever dream of I think you have the excess capacity your after?

I don't know if it would be harmful toward performace (no where near a hydraulics expert or even a wanna be), I don't think so though, just that I can flow that much if required to.

Just look at it this way, if I ever sell the loader someone can put it back on a larger tractor and not have to worry.

Most of the valves I saw were 10-12gpm though. Even the one Hoye sells is 10gpm.

Gotcha. I know you said hoye was 10gpm that's what I mean that one alone was plenty. But I guess if someone needs that extra capacity and you sell it, it's there. But I can't imagine you selling this loader...I guess if it just doesn't work right, you would but who sells a loader off their tractor that works. Haha

FYI I'm pursuing answers to that question in this thread on the hydraulics subforum if anyone wants to follow along FEL and Rear T&T Control Valve Flow Capacity Questions

FWIW for my YFL-1500 FEL the recently installed Brand Hydraulics LV22RFSTKAB (same as sold by Hoye, nominal 10 GPM) is giving very satisfactory control on my 336D with a rated pump flow of 8.4 GPM. I'm happy with the valve though admit I didn't buy from Hoye.

I asked the questions in the hydraulics subforum because I'm still searching for a valve-set to add Rear Aux T&T (where I want good feathering control) and one other DA cylinder control and the 'best choice' isn't quite as apparent for that application. I wanted to confirm that the 'close capacity match' is a selection criteria I needed to maintain.
