Life is hard... with no promises or guarantee's. This is why we do need author's such as Gibran, Victor Hugo, and even Dickens. I personally would include the Psalms, which are my favorite. We need to know others have walked our path, felt our sorrows, and lived through the pain. You are not alone, we have all lost. It is our choice how we deal with it. Life is good, even though today may not be. Don't despair... find your strength and let it carry you through today; don't worry about tomorrow.

Best post of the day.

Thank you Steppenwolfe. I've appreciated your posts and love Kahlil Gibran. I think sometimes GOD speaks in mysterious ways. Today I'm struggling with putting the .45 to my temple like my 30 y/o son. :( I couldn't do that to those who love me. But sometimes a place to express the rawness of being is in order. Sometimes I just want to talk about what I love - Kahlil Gibran being one.

I'm glad the thought of what it would do to your family is keeping you from pulling the trigger. But the fact that you keep thinking of doing it is concerning. That fact that you can talk about it is good. These feelings are natural. Some part of us wants to follow in their footsteps out of love, and also end the pain. Two for one.

As to my family member who slowly committed suicide when he should have gotten help, or thought more about his family, or maybe his family could have done something more, or, or....! He chose to do that negative thing, causing ripples of pain so wide. I still feel such sympathy for that depth of pain, but I will strive to do positive things and create ripples of goodness instead. I know he would approve.

Don't worry - it's been a daily consideration for the last few years.

Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. If you truly know God then you can find all your answers in His word. While we humans may not understand everything that happens in life, He gives us answers though sometimes at the moment they may not be what we want to hear.

John Buffalo, surround yourself with friends and family. Go out to eat with them. Invite them over to eat. Cook some BBQ, or whatever. Go to church. Go bowling...etc. Do these as often as possible. You need these things.

I don't know if you drink or not, but I tell my friends "you won't find the answers to life at the bottom of a brown bottle."

One day at a time.

So sorry for your loss.

Too many people look into the bottom of that brown bottle, then make that permanent solution to a temporary problem. Your words above are worth more than their weight in gold.

Trolls - Narcissism - what's the difference?

BTW - what I'm doing here in response to being "trolled", is being both "trolling" and "narcissistic" if you'd like to cite an example.

Edit: because I have a lot of anger and when someone pushes the button lately, I push back.

Hi John,

A long time ago I was the victim of a violent crime. It left me with a lot of anger. After many years of working on it and having dark thoughts, the two things that worked best for me was first, to keep going, to just put one foot in front of the other and keep going attitude and second to use joy and happiness to push out anger. It sounds silly but it works for me. I find joy in simple things, the sounds a baby makes, my wife's smile, my sons' achievements, my dog being so excited to see me at the end of each workday, I know some people say express your anger, i.e, get a punching bag, go to a yelling space and let loose, etc. None of that ever worked for me. If just left me angrier. It seems happy, enjoyable things and thoughts do it for me. Hope this helps. Good luck.

John, You are not alone, please find a way to stay busy and not dwell on the anger.

When I was a teenager, I got sick on some rough water salmon fishing. We were far enough out off the coast that I could not see land and had been assigned the task of driving the boat. It was not a big deal for me, just puked over the side and didn't worry about it. It seemed that every time we went out after that, everyone kept asking me how I was doing, thinking they were being concerned. BS, it made me think of being sick which eventually I would be after awhile. Point is, you've likely spent enough time thinking on it, now to fill your time with other things, positive things.

 and keep at it till it's a habit, then do it again. Know that we and others love you, even if we've not personally met you.
