Walvoil likes things greased well!

valve grease.jpg

After cleaning and taking it down to the pivot block, it is obvious the orientation of the joystick can be changed. This block is for positions 1 and 4. You can see that stamped on the block.

All I need to correct this is the block for positions 2 and 3! Unfortunately, the folks I bought from is not interested in correcting this issue.

Does anyone have a good source on Walvoil parts?

I am going to email the guy I ordered from this picture and offer to purchase the correct block. I doubt it will do any good but I am going to try. :confused3:

Have you tried Flodraulics or Womack? They both show being Walvoil distributors

Oldnslo,

I tried both when I was first researching. Neither got back with me. I even drove to Womack in Farmers Branch, sat down with a salesman and we sketched all the desired features. He said he would call me in a few days to give me the quote. Never heard anything from them.

Never dreamed getting a valve would prove to be so challenging. I wonder what my chances would be if I drove to Tulsa where they are assembled? Possibly they would trade blocks with me.

Maybe try contacting the factory in Tulsa & explain the problem. They might work with you.

I was able to find the Walvoil part number for the correct pivot block if anyone has one in their back pocket.

This valve was used on several backhoes. The image below is from a LS Mtron service manual.

Part #3FUL220202 POS. 3

I will send this to the folks I ordered the valve from. Maybe then they will order it for me. :crossfingers:

The company I purchased the valve from finally understood what I was needing. They ordered the part today but did charge me $15. Sure would have been easier to get it right the first time.

Good lesson for the salesman that work for me. I was able to share this experience with them to help them slow down and get it right.

Glad that you had the patience & persistence to get this issue resolved. Hopefully the valve will work well once you get it installed.

This is going to be fun! They put so much locktite on the screws that hold the pivot plate that three of the four heads stripped out. These are No. 3 Allen head screws.

Now to come up with a technique to get them out without damaging the valve. :banghead:

I swear, it could be raining soup outside and I would get hit in the mouth with a bale of hay!

Two thoughts

When you suspect loctite, apply heat. The heat is necessary if the RED loctitite was used.

IRWIN tools that makes an extractor for stripped allen or Torx head screws.

Other forum members were very pleased when they tried them.

Depending upon your screw, you can use a tools which works inside the head.

Multi-Spline Screw Extractors - Screw & Bolt Extractors - Tools - IRWIN TOOLS

Or use a tool that goes over the outside.

Bolt Extractors - Tools - IRWIN TOOLS

The tools are sold in both kits and individual sizes.

Post a photo for more advice.

Thanks Dave, I found a technique that worked on one. Now if I can duplicate it 2 more times.

I am drilling the center out to make a deeper seat for this extractor. I had to grind the tip of the extractor to get a tight fit then I use the trusty old hammer and drove the extractor till it bottomed out. If it worked once surely it will work two more times? Let's hope!

Success!! Thanks to ACE hardware for having the perfect replacement Stainless Steel screw, the valve will now work in the proper direction! The new screws are a little longer that fit perfect. They bottom out at the same time they snug the plate up. No Locktite needed! :cool2:

I used Kubota orange on the valve that will be mounted on my Kioti. Think I will get sued?

The rush is on getting the tractor ready!

Hurricane Michael came on shore today in Mexico Beach Florida. My 84 year old father-in-law lives a couple of blocks off of the beach there. He lived in a single wide trailer house built in the 70's. Last anyone heard from him was last night and he told his daughters he was going to stay.

We will be heading down as soon as we can and the plan is to take the tractor and all the stuff to survive with so we can clean up. We have contacted some of the folks we know there and they are going to check on things for us and send pictures so I know what implements I will need.

I am sure it will be a mess!

We made it home. I was unable to take the tractor this trip as I did not have anyone to pull the other trailer. My dad was going to but just was not up to the trip. I most likely need to go back with it later to get the trees down. Some firemen said they will try to get to them once everything settles down.

On another note, the Walvoil valve is everything I hoped for!! Great feathering and load checks work great! The valve is smooth and every spool works well!

I can recommend this valve to anyone looking for a small 12 GPM 3 spool loader valve! It is a pain however, getting someone to sell you one and that will get it correct! If anyone wants to know more about it I will be glad to help.

Thanks Brother for all your help! The Youli valve was driving me insane! I am not much on appearance but fictionality is very important to me. The Walvoil valve is a quality small monoblock. It is apparent they take pride in these units. It still had oil in it from their testing before shipping. Worth every penny!
