I called and talked to the owner this time. Not the idiot shop manager.

Was told credit would be done Monday

If it isn't by the end of my work day....you bet I'm calling back.

Warranty on new motor.....I'm sure it has one. But didn't specifically inquire. So don't know. But I did ask if by me doing the work would void a warranty if needed in the future, and was assured it wouldn't effect anything.

Take a good video of your new engine running just in case.

When I return something for credit, I call the CC folks and advise them what is going on. They make an entry on my account and document the issue. Then, when I have a problem, I call the CC company and unleash the dogs. this has worked well for me and I have never lost a dispute. In fact, in one case I called the CC outfit and told them I was awaiting a RAN for the return (a hydraulic top link cylinder). Never got the RAN. I even wrote a letter and sent an email...no rely. I got credit for the item and still have it all packaged up sitting in my garage. One day, I'll likely modify the hydraulics on my machine and install the top link cylinder...or return it COD the shipping charges.

I just don't mess with incompetency.

Glad to hear the tractor is back to work mode. I didn't realize the pressure switch was toast, I like oil pressure gauges.

They should have processed the refund pretty quickly after they got the engine back; however, it can take a few days for the refund to show up on your CC, depending on your bank's policies. The merchant has no control over that. You might be better off calling the bank that issued your CC to ask about the status of your refund. They should be able to tell whether the refund has been *submitted.*

BTW, the credit cards almost always side with the buyer, even when it's an obvious fraud. That's the reason merchants immediately refund when threatened with a chargeback, because it's a lose-lose situation for them. Lose the case anyway, plus a chargeback on your record. In defense of merchants, there are many folks out there who routinely scam merchants this way. It is very, very easy to do, and get away with.

Somehow I suspect that the girl who sold you the motor was not the one who did the initial inspection (if there ever was one). More likely it was the shop manager who told her what to say, thus the blow back.

A "motor" for a Kubota tractor?
How many amps does it draw?
What is the circuit breaker rating?
Wire size?

Do washers and dryers have "engines"?

I constantly make this mistake too, but then I'm a dummy when it comes to mechanical stuff. :) But I do know the difference. A motor gets its power from electricity; an engine gets its power from magic, right?

Ok, and this belligerent shop manager also told me that the girl that sold me the motor, the one I have been in communication with the whole time ...she was fired because of this ordeal.

Why be selective, maybe you should correct the op too? He must not know the difference either...lol.

Orezok just picked up his phrasing. Most definitions are less stringent on meaning between two terms.

When are we getting electric race cars to use on all of the "motor speedways"?
What's powering "motorcycles"?
Has 90+% of the population, including all of the dictionary writers, been using the wrong word?
