Does this have a happy ending yet?

It actually does.

Just got a letter in the mail yesterday from Cc company.

Basically stated that merchant issued a partial credit, and that a temporary credit was issued to my account.

And that the credit will remain on my account.

So weather the cc company ate the charges or weather the merchant ponied up, I have no idea, and at this point I don't really care. I have my full refund and life moves on

Good to hear, LD. I figured the CC company would come through. Always been my experience first hand or friend's.

Sorry that happened.

When starting an engine after an oil change, it's a good practice to watch for the oil light to come on momentarily, and then go out. This will verify the oil pressure warning light circuit is working properly.

This is great advice and makes perfect sense to check the oil safety systems when performing an oil and filter change. I will make sure I remember this.

Pretty much every tractor, truck or car with an oil pressure indicator (be it a gauge or an "idiot light") will do the same, the light should turn on or the gauge should show no pressure when the key is on but the motor is not yet started.

FYI LD1 the credit card company never eats it. The merchant eats it. Trust me I know, we're a merchant and every now and then get a chargeback and there's very little we can do to defend against them.

That's a fact, i was also a merchant back in the day. As far as disputing a fraudulent charge, i just did it. They fought me for 6 months until i filled out some government complaint form, then all charges and fees were dropped but........it hammered my credit rating. I've always had stellar credit, not now. I don't need their credit but it does have a negative impact, which in turn increases your insurance rates and probably a bunch of other chit.

I'm running outta gas talking to these 3rd party asian customer service reps.

Had friends that sold equipment.
Guy walks in, buys a snow blower and his buddy also wants one.
Friends called for authorization and get an authorization number so they make the sale for the 2 blowers.
CC makes a charge back as the card was stolen!

CC called back wanting them to eat the loss under threat of cancelling their CC privilege's.
The claim was that they did not do enough CC sales to justify support.
