Unfortunately some do not know enough to only urinate downwind.

Do you/Did you have children? Were they only what you call animals until they supported their family?
What type job do you think your dog could get? Computer programmer? Secretary? Guard?

Every dog that has lived with my family has been a good guard dog, most have been good entertainers, some good for hunting rabbits and all have more than earned their keep.

I do have kids, they are humans, not animals. I have had many dogs in my life (currently have one now), I've never once put them in the same category as humans though.

Man is an animal, nothing more. It's what we do with our intelligence that differentiates us IMO.

Everyone has opinions though they may not agree and that is fine. If we were all the same what fun would that be?

Agreed.

Ironically enough, by your own standards, I have no doubt that some of my dogs work harder than some men who don't work:thumbsup:

On that note, do you consider men who don't work animals and not men?

Nope, still humans. Believe me, I know some lazy people and some hard working dogs but the dogs only do what they are taught by the hard working human.

What in your opinion on the difference between a human and an animal?

Look at them for one thing. It's like comparing tractors and vehicles, they both have an engine but they aren't the same.

You can say the same thing about humans themselves.

I consider a human an animal, you do not. Humans are capable of the greatest "love" on this earth, yet they are also capable of the greatest hate and destruction this world has ever seen.

So, other than the obious where man has greater intelligence (hopefully LOL) over a dog, what makes a dog an animal where as the human isn't an animal in your opinion?

Humans don't walk up to people and sniff there rear ends, humans don't lick themselves, etc.

Socially we use other means for greetings. As for cleaning, not very practical for us to use our tongues.

I will agree that we have a greater intelligence which is why sometimes people find it "ghastly" to consider our species a "animal", but the reality is we don't always us it (intelligence).

Basic definition of an animal....

"any of a kingdom (Animalia) of living things including many-celled organisms and often many of the single-celled ones (such as protozoans) that typically differ from plants in having cells without cellulose walls, in lacking chlorophyll and the capacity for photosynthesis, in requiring more complex food materials (such as proteins), in being organized to a greater degree of complexity, and in having the capacity for spontaneous movement and rapid motor responses to stimulation"

Last time I checked, we fit the bill...
