MOLD --Block garage suddenly grows a lot mold in 3-4 weeks, Attacked old car?

Last time i'm in garage about a month ago. Lot of rain and water was in garage a lot of time this summer. Had an old car in garage and mold attacked it. Also some plywood cabinets mold growing. I was thinking of using a spray of clorox over the mold. But also heard white vinegar will stop mold from growing. How do we know if mold is bad? Of course its all bad. Don't know what do for car.

Well, there is Penicillin and Bleu Cheese.

The black stuff is usually the worst though. There are fungicides. And there are test kits available in some stores.

Thanks for answer. After searching around I read borax, baking soda, peroxide & vinegar . I heard there are mold bombs. Don't know much about them. I wonder if they work. Also hard surfaces are easier to control than wood rugs etc.

I like Blue Cheese. Alas, my doctor doesn't allow me to eat.

Couple of years ago I re finished my wood cladded home using water based opaque stain.
This after stripping all the previous finish down to bare wood.
Here in Quebec oil based finishes have been banned, hence the water based stains.
Now as I look at that finish I see all kinds of black mould showing here and there, mostly on the shaded areas.
My take is that the water based finish being porous accepts humidity and hence moulds grow.
Presently contemplating what to do to attack the problem.
First thought is a pressure washer using a bleach solution of some sort.

Anybody have better ideas?

I've seen liquid pool-chlorine used to kill mould on block walls. Very effective, but use appropriate precautions if taking this approach.

You may have structural or ground-water issues to deal with ? I've used good quality oil-based paint on the exterior of raised block (single row on top of slab-on-grade) to deal with minor exterior water exposure - ie. snow-melt. That paint worked well for me, no more water seepage.

Would help if you dry it out. Mold depends on moisture to grow. Depending on where you are fall is usually drier, that might help. I'd put a dehumidifier in there if I really wanted to dry it out. Agree with previous replies that you should try to keep water from getting in.

Wet n Forget - does a great job and no work to it other than spraying it on. It may take awhile for the mold to disappear, but it will.

Then while you're waiting for it disappear, work on the moisture issue.

I keep forgetting i bought some wet and forget.

The other day i had my wife pick up some simple green cleaner. Then yesterday i found a whole bottle of it hanging on a shelf, turned around and there is the new bottle on the floor.
