I have a 65 late 60s bought a 3point wood splitter tractor hydraulics pick it up but when I plug it in to operate it won't run the splitter? Can someone run me through the basic steps for operation before l go buying a new pump needlessly.

I asume u have a controlevalve on it . To power the controlevalve the arm needs not to be at its highest before changing over. Then lift the lever just a little and there should be flow to the valve and the silinder should move.
