Kubota L3901 vs Kioti CK4010

I've been toying with replacing the L3200 with a tractor that has factory air. A couple days ago I ran a used Kioti DK45SE around a dealer's lot to get a feel for it.

The HST worked well, but I noticed that the tractor coasted more when letting off the pedal. Not a bad thing. Sometimes the Kubota stops more abruptly than I'd like.

Controls were nice in general. The joystick seemed a bit stiff going in and out of the float position, and it was really difficult to maintain a level position while raising and lowering the bucket. I noticed the same operation on a Bobcat (OK, a white Kioti) and a New Holland. This is a simple task on the Kubota, and my guess is that it has to do with the Kubota's joystick being right on the valves while the Kioti's is cable connected?

The Kioti is a nice tractor and was pretty nimble for the larger size. The cab is fairly quiet and it doesn't have the hydro whine that my Kubota does. I'm a "bigger is better" fan, but the Kioti may be going a little far. The L3200 size and weight has been ideal. It fits in my shed and the trees have been trimmed to match its size.

My one (1) Kioti reservation has to do with difficult starting in cold weather.

There are disproportional threads titled "Kioti Will Not Start" "CK Will Not Start" , "DK Will Not Start" and variations on the theme, in the T-B-N archive.

If you look at the following LINK the Won't Start threads go on page after page after page.
LINK: Kioti will not start site:tractorbynet.com - Google Search

"Won't Start" threads ramp up every December.

I shopped Kioti but bought Kubota. When it is time for my next new tractor I will shop Kioti again.

CHRYON: Your location should be part of your T-B-N PROFILE, so it shows with every post your make.

I have owned 2 Kubota's and 1 Kioti which is my present tractor.

I will GUARANTEE you that the Kioti is by far and away the easiest starting tractor I have ever owned. I have owned 5.

So what ??? I'm not bashing Kioti, so why are you trying to make it that way ???
You make blanket statements that certain brands are "cheaper for a reason"(post #11), and "inferior" (post #17) Etc. but can't tell us what features/parts or components it is that it is that's inferior. Or even what model you looked at/compared ??
Spare me !!!

what makes the loader bucket a kioti lousy?

I'd like teeth - my thoght is just to get a second bucket with teeth..only a couple of hundred more from what i've seen on CL and gives me options.

I've used my bucket hard so far- no issues.

I view kioti as a good tractor. The biggest fault IMO is a lousy loader bucket. Mahindra has plenty of substandard features. Lousy castings, lousy brakes, lousy shifting in the geared models. Lousy loader valve. Still has a lousy loader bucket. Lousy customer service.

when cold, or colder temps, until warmed up, my kioti will coast as well. once warmed up, no issues.

Too small for the machine it’s on, no reinforcement on the bucket sides, no reinforcement at the top edge which makes it hard to weld hooks on

I looked at the NX and RX series, 60 ish HP range. Comparing to the Kubota Grand L and the JD 40 series, along with equivalents in TYM, LS, MF.

For me, the Kubota was the smoothest, both HST and hydraulic response of FEL. For me that is important, but maybe it doesnt matter to others. That said, the Kioti was my 2nd choice. The reason I didn't go Koiti was 2 fold. First, the price was the same as Kubota. Second, my Kioti dealer also sells cars, TYM, and LS. I just felt like they would not be specialized enough to really help me if I needed complex service. Also the Kubota dealer has 4 area locations...so parts are potentially easier and they are less likely to go belly up. I really dont have any negatives about the Kioti. If I found a reputable dealer and a great price I would strongly consider.

Hm.. mine is double metal at the top edge and has a factory welded on pad on each side intended to weld hooks on. I welded hooks on mine. Here is what they look like.

Can't speak for the newer models, but here is the bucket that came on my 2001 model DK. (this is the bucket came with it when I ordered SSQA which was an option at the time, SSQA was standard on many of the later models)
Support straps down the leading edge of each side and 2" pipe across the top front for support (came that way new , I didn't add it)
I added the 3 weld on grab hooks and 2 bolt on slip hooks

I can't speak for other brands, but Kubota voids warranty on the bucket if you add hooks and lift with and bend it up. If you dont have warranty or dont care about it then no worries!

For my first tractor, I spent months reading and studying everything I could on tractors. I also narrowed down my final choices to the Kubota L3901 and the Kioti CK4010. Both similar class tractors. My choice was for the L3901 based on the highly reputable dealer network.

However, when it came time to try one out and receive a price quote, every Kubota dealer with 100 miles of my house, could not take the time to talk prices or discuss potential buyer options and Landpride attachments. All wanted to sell me the Kubota Skid Steers on their lot or the large sized tractors. Many emails went unanswered.

I gave up and went to the lowly Kioti Dealer just 5 miles up the road. He sells horse trailers, utility trailers, car haulers, dump trailers and Kioti tractors + Woods attachments. In 10 minutes I was driving the kioti tractor around the lot, discussing price quotes on a package deal. Bought the CK4010HCSE cab with all options, including duel remotes.

The Kioti CK4010 now has 185 hrs on the tractor and has performed flawlessly in all aspects of use. I installed 800 feet of fence line, cut and build an 1100 feet long gravel road, installed two security gates, backhoe 3 irrigation ditches, rotary cut 15 acres of pasture, moved about 6 tons of fire wood (cut from gravel road) and chipped limbs for 3 full days using the Woodmax PTO chipper. Overall, i am extremely happy with my choice of tractor.

I would not bring my tractor to my original Kioti dealer for repairs. He is mainly for equipment sales. I have identified a Kioti dealer near Fort Worth that only services tractors....for future challenging repairs if needed. I also have found the online Kioti Part Stream network extremely functional for any filters or tractor parts of any type. I use the Woods part system for anything related to my attachments.

You keep repeating that blanket statement over and over but never gives specifics.
What Kubota vs Kioti models where you comparing ?
What specific parts/features are made cheaper-not comparable ?

He honestly can稚 because the only thing he could really find inferior, not up to standards or lacking in quality was that the name plate wasn稚 what he wanted it to be.

If you could have put the Kioti on the lot with Kubota badges on it it would be in his stable now and he would be telling us how great it is compared to everything else made!

I love this part... you not only don't know what I think, but you are also full of ****. The Kioti was an inferior tractor when I bought six years ago. Again, my opinion, and I don't remember what bloody model it was... who cares. I went with Kubota and I am glad I did. My stable will stay Kubota because I believe it is the best brand out there, PERIOD. Now ya'll can go yank your chains on the Kioti forum and quit trying to stir up a sh*t storm here.

So your the only one with permission to say things without merit?

I have said it before and will say it it again when I looked at and compared the Kubota and Kioti I found them both to have positives and negatives BUT in no way could one call one inferior to the other unless they were looking at one through rosy colered glasses like you or decidedly and admittedly being brand loyal!
The simple fact that then just as now you could not state any factual insight to what was lacking or even what you felt was lacking to justify your statements, does in fact lead me to honestly understand and know what and how your thinking. Why else do you think it’s so easy for any one of us to get a predictable rise out of you by posting such a simple response?

Maybe you should keep you uninformed opinions in the kubota section of the forum rather than expecting me to stay in the Kioti section!
