B2650 rear pto locked up?

I got it off! Still can稚 tell what was leaking really only a few drops now.

It will not shift to the rear pto or rear/mid but the mid only works.

sounds like some internal damage

Looks that way and a few thousand to fix. :(

I'm still wondering if it was my fault or a tractor defect because i used the snowblower last year with no issues but like like others have said if the pto was to long it would have broke then and not now. Plus it is a land pride snow blower i was told it was matched to the tractor, i also have the blower as close to the rear of the tractor as it can get.

Will the kubota insurance pay for it or is it still under warranty only 2 1/2 years old.

Was your top link set shorter this year than last? If so, it brings the blower closer to the tractor than it would have last year when you raise it with the 3pt arms. I would still try the warranty either way, but setting the top link too short causes the PTO shaft to jam into the back of the tractor.

No i only have one implement that uses the 3pt.

Rob,

You probably will, but be sure to let us know how this turned out.........and may it not be something so costly.
Cheers,
Mike

Even though it will lift it and turn it, those PTO shafts are universal length to be sure they will work on 99% of machines. Unless you got a huge machine, you'll need to chop them.

When I got my Braber 50" snow blower, the gearbox is rated for 45 HP and the shaft is rated for 50 HP. So if I had a bigger machine, I'd likely not have to cut the shaft. But because I'm using a small tractor, a good 4" had to be cut off. Luckily, I can use that same PTO shaft for my flail mower.

IIRC the BX and B series you'll need to trim PTO shafts, L series and up, you can get by using the standard length -- but always check!

It's a lot cheaper to get a new PTO shaft if you cut it too short, than repairing a machine, not to mention being without it during the repair process.

it looks like the bearing rusted, and locked up solid!..
That's the seal, the bearings aren't accessible unless you pull the cover off.

Is it possible the pto shaft bound up and couldn't slide when you lifted the blower? Also does anyone know if the B2650 has a brake on the pto? I thought they did.

of course it's the seal, but the bearings are behind that, and depend on the seal to keep contaminates out, and the lubricants in, when a seal gets that bad, it's only a matter of time before the bearings get severely damaged..
