What the heck is making these holes?

And are you going to demolish that hideous wooden deck in the picture? Looks like even the vegetation is trying to do its best to hide it!!

Seriously, I think it has termites. It looked whole when I first looked at the picture. But I looked at the picture again, and it appears some of it has now been eaten away just in the short time since I first saw it. I can check the picture again in another week and report back if that helps!

Hey, Plowhog, that’s not a deck - it is the floor of an old 12‘ x 16‘ log building that used to be there. I gave the logs away, but I kept the roof and 2” thick floor boards, which have now been removed, and used for one section of the floor of my barn. Not the section that has my now famous holes, but another section. And in the middle of that thing that looks like a deck to you is a raised square concrete pad (about 3’ x 3’), with four bolts sticking straight up out of it. Any guesses as to what it’s purpose was? I could not move it with my tractor if my life depended on it. It is really thick.

If there was a roof over the concrete pad, it pretty well knocks out the possibility it was a base for an antenna used to contact worm hole central.

My neighbors had something similar on their camp lawn by the lake except that it was surrounded by a concrete pad. The previous owner had a big, permanently mounted telescope in an enclosed building, when they wanted to use it the roof slid back.
