Diesel emissions

Had a choice to go with a L3800 or the replacement L3901 when we bought.

The L3800 was "Last Years" model and cheaper... it was a simple decision.

It's been over 4 years now and the L3800 has been a solid performer with zero issues... gets used every day...

Spoke to my Dealer today for someone looking for the same... Dealer has some on rental with no plans to sell... said the L3800 has been a solid performer.

He does have L3901 for sale both new and harvest returns.

I went and looked at Kubota and Deere's today.
The fella at the Deere store told me that the regen process took about an hour with the tractor parked.
He pointed out a rocker switch that he said was either "ON" or "AUTO", I think....
Said if you run it in auto it would change the regen cycle/process, or something. I should have paid better attention, but I was really more interested in the models without the DPF.

Since I'm such a lucky guy  , something tells me that as soon as I buy a tractor with a DPF they'll come out with something more refined to where you don't have to put up with that regen process. However, the salesman said the units 75hp and up have both DPF and DEF, and maybe the next step will be the same for the under 75hp units. Who knows.....

An hour! That's far longer than any I have heard of. Sales people often have incorrect information. I'd check that.

For many CUTS that do regens if the regen happens while you're working the tractor the operator barely notices. Generally the higher hp the less of an issue the regen is.

Bransons have a DPF but don't do regens. They have a low temp continual regen system and mechanical fuel injection.

Massey Ferguson 4700 series has no DPF, only an oxidation catalyst, much like a catalytic converter, which requires no maintenance. No regen. Big advantage

Yes, tier 4 is more than trapping particulates.

So is your L3200 an EGR type? EGR is less complex than DPF...less stuff to go wrong and less expensive............................................

Have to admit I'm not sure what it has, just sure there's no DPF. In 6-1/2 years and over 500 hours the only thing I needed to address was the adjustment of the safety switch on the HST pedal.

on my 2 Kubota mini ex's- the regen cycle takes about 20 minutes- you can still operate the equipment but with a noticeable loss of power, we usually just stop work and take 20 minutes getting the next phase ready. It really has not been a inconvenience or an issue. 2017 KX040 and 2018 KX057

On my MX5200 the regens occur while I’m operating. First time didn’t even realize it was happening until I saw increase rpm No noticeable loss of power. Really not a big deal.
