I don't know how many miles you drive. I only put about 12k miles on mine a year now, so I just change it spring and fall

I drive 120-130 miles a day 5days/week. Tow once a week anywhere from 6k-13k lbs.

I was hoping to see a 3/4 ton Tundra debut, give it a year to work out the kinks and possibly buy one. Just couldn稚 wait any longer. The Tundra had plenty of power, just felt like it was pushed around some with 8k+ lb loads.

This was my experience as well, I do love my Tundra but, sigh.
yah gotta do what yah gotta do.
The new rig is rock solid and white knuckles are just a memory.

I have the Titan XD 5.0 Cummins v8. Runs great tows 7k like a charm. It’s closer to a 3/4 than a 1/2 ton. Torque is fair.
I had the Ford power joke 6.0.
My friend still has his 2005 or 2006 dodge 2500 with the 5.9 HO. Low RPM torque monster. No computer emissions BS either. Back end of the tranny’s are weak. if you want big torque and towing power buy a inline six engine. that’s where the torque comes from.

The Tundra did fine with the loads power wise, just felt the truck was a little light, esp over 8k lbs. I pulled 4 sections (4’ sections) of 36” rcp and a JD tlb 110 Saturday with the Ram and did just fine. The load with trailer was roughly 15.5klbs. Didn’t move the truck around at all and had plenty of power. I was in a hurry and forgot to snap a pic. Pic below example of tlb. IMG_5718.JPG

What amazes me is it make 800 lb-ft at only 1700 rpm. The truck just works.

Things I like better than my Tundra-all doors unlock either when I exit or when I press the fob. Also like the automatic locking tailgate. Backup camera is better. Oil changes easier and Ram has a trans dipstick. Ram doesn稚 ride as nice, but not comparing apples to apples-4wd 3/4 ton to 2wd 1/2 ton. Fuel mileage is better by 1mpg on average and fuel tank is much bigger. Do not care for where rear ac vents are in the Ram, much better placement in the Tundra. Ram bed lights are a plus as well as where they locate trailer plug ins. In closing, if my towing needs reduce and I am looking for a solid, reliable 1/2 ton, I will buy a Tundra again. But for low end power and towing, hard to beat a Cummins. Impressed so far. More updates to come.

I believe the "all doors unlock" feature is user programmable. It can be done with the FOB I believe - check out your owners manual as yours is a lot newer.

Not many. Purchased in June of 2015 and now has 23,500 miles. So it adds up to twice a year like yours.

If your going to use a high end synthetic oil, it doesn’t make sense not to extend the oil change interval, I’d personally woukd probably go more like 10000 miles.

My 13 3500 has been flawless, except for a fair amount of recalls (none of which I have done because I do not go to the dealer, not a fan). I am used to Ram recalls though, I have had a Ram HD Diesel since 04. My 13 is by far the best. I change oil and fuel filters at 10k, do not care about Rams silly 6 month scheme. Drive it short commutes, to the bus stop for the kids, tow a bunch, get groceries, it does not care.
It has the standard 68re trans not the Aisin, I tow max capacity and she doesn’t miss a beat.

Only thing I may change is the anemic 3.42s. They get the job done and save on some fuel but I would like a little more down low when towing heavy. In all fairness all my other Rams were 4:10’s so that’s what I’m used to.

If it were me I would get a SRW 3500 and skip the 2500. The coils in the rear do not soften the ride from the trucks I have been in and you loose a bunch of payload. Even if you do not use it now it is nice to have.
