Kubota Warranty Appeal/Review Procedure

Based on my experiences with Ford, I can't make that jump.

If it was a Mfg. defect that fits within warranty, than these simple questions should be easy to answer.

No, because I've seen too many instances where a manufacturer and/or dealer will go the weasel word route to skirt a warranty claim that is clearly not the consumer's fault. Sometimes they'll just keep kicking the can down the road hoping the consumer will give up and go away. They may do it by trying to confuse the issue, delaying replies, or simply by transferring the issue to different departments repeatedly.

No doubt that happens.
BUT if an OP claims a Mfg. is withholding warranty, but is unable or unwilling to supply such basic information I can only assume he is hiding something. Period !!

I feel that he of all people knows the rest of the story and the truth if it. He will not divulge the whole truth because he almost guaranteed knows that he's wrong. If it wasn't the case, he would explain logically how his claim was errantly denied. But I'm sure that he does know all of the basic facts and because he does, he's not going to toss that out here and allow us to poke holes in his story.

If M&R Power Equipment and Kubota left me hanging while I was clearly within warranty, I would be happy to come out in the tractor buying public and discuss how I've been wronged. I would beat that drum until I broke it.

I agree, Rock Crawler. He posted the same original question over on the Orange Tractor Talk Forum. And when asked there by people trying to understand the "warranty issue" and help, he also refused to divulge what the nature of the problem was that he had with his tractor. :confused3:

I've been following this thread since it's inception. Normally I don't like saying anything in response to these types of threads, but I couldn't help myself...

After reading and trying to digest all of the responses, including the OP's remarks, all I've been reading is nothing. Kind of coincidental that the post above mine has in their signature: I find "Some people talk a lot but never say anything". This certainly applies to this thread.

Hey guys, calm yourselves. 45 posts and counting ... Rick is accurate. SDT simply asked for experience/leads on appeals within the Kubota hierarchy. I would go to the Regional Service Rep supervisor by phone or direct communication if he feels strongly enough (next level above the one who initially turned down the dealer's case.) SDT has backed out of the thread a few posts back. I think RockCrawler has gone a bit too far with rancor, at least for my TBN blood. Entitled to his opinion (and no more my business than his.) I tend to read carefully and form an old engineer's opinion. I read the whole situation this way:

The brand new machine with 20 hrs on it has some $300 problem which the dealer is stuck covering (and is, if nothing is done on appeal.) The dealer has tried to get reimbursement for the work and Kubota refuses at the first service rep level. SDT feels he has gotten good support from the dealer and that neither he nor the dealer should have to foot the bill. SDT has also said that he was/is contemplating a large machine purchase and may reconsider it if Kubota won't back the products in this kind of circumstance. He is looking for bottom line comfort and confirmation that "Kubota backs their products" really well which is important to any serious customer. The old retired lawyer in him, SDT wants to appeal such that neither he nor the dealer pay the bill as well as to flush out the true corporate behavior of Kubota.

So ? I do not see anything in all of this that is sinister, justifies rancor, upset, or verbal stone throwing. We readers were just unable to help in this case.

Sure it would have been a whole lot more fun to delve into the mechanical details instead of the question that was asked. Some threads are more fun than others.

Anyone who can't be bothered to provide details, can't really be helped. Put the info on the web for all to see (including Kubota reps).

OP; If your time is so much more valuable than a resolution, why not just fix it out of pocket and be done with it? You expect folk to take time to provide you with information, yet you do not reciprocate. Your situation may apply to many other folk who could learn from your experience, yet you refuse to allow your situation to help them by taking the time to explain the situation. Way to add to the community knowledge and experience! :thumbsup:

According to SDT:

An attachment of this 3 page letter would explain why SDT feels so strongly that he has been wronged by Kubota. It would be very easy to attach a copy of that letter and he might get a lot of support from his fellow Kubota owners. On the other hand he might come off looking like a sore loser that deserves to eat the $300 repair. I guess we'll never know.

Than you have to give us something. They have to have some reason that they are eluding to as too why this 20 hour, brand new, warranted and broken tractor is not going to get warranty coverage. Otherwise, you pretty much look like your being deceptive to us by claiming that Kubota who is notorious for great customer service and great products is suddenly turning evil and is out to get poor old you for no reason whatsoever.

Your holding back critical need to know information, and my suspicions are that your doing this because you know in your heart of hearts that they are in the right and you... Well you are not.

I could be wrong. If so, I'm sorry for thinking this way. But as it stands I'm going with my gut. Your trying to pull some shady crap.
