Who rides motorcycles?

After we retired, my wife decided I was having too much fun with my bike. So for her 60th birthday she got her motorcycle licence and after a few different bikes she settled on a Spyder to match my Wing !!!

Best I can get the wife to agree to is trying a sidecar, which I haven't pulled off yet..... or maybe I should say put On

If I combine my Sales 301 skills and a pile of cash, maybe I can get her on a Sypder ?

Just take her down to the dealer and let her take a test ride. The bike will do the selling for you.
My wife was all smiles from the first moment she got on one.

I knew that the new one was loaded for bear, but wow, :shocked: that supercharger is one serious piece of engineering ! (Not saying the rest of the bike isn't well engineered :thumbsup.

Nice to ride along with Jay ..... esp. with snow up here !

My 2001 BMW R1150GS is the last bike I'll need. Bought it from Lyle Lovett when he had his shop in Stafford (Houston area), TX.

Those boxer, air/oil cooled oilhead engines will last for 100s of thousands of miles with proper care. There is a fellow in Texas who rides one with well over 500,000 miles on the original engine. I can cruise at 80+ MPH all day with no oil use thanks to Nikasil cylinder plating and other BMW engine refinements. I changed the OE spark plugs about 5 years ago. Scrapped the OE NGK plugs (dual ground electrode) to Autolite 3923 single ground electrode ($2.00 each) and improved cold starting as well as MPG. I like old stuff. The M-f tractor is 2003 vintage with a Perkins 3 cylinder diesel engine that runs flawlessly.

As for H-D, foreign country tarrifs are penalizing and the cause of H-D slow sales and poor recent growth. Trump is right; Strangle those S-O-Bs with tarrifs of our own or adopt free trade practices.

I like that classic air-head design.

If I ever had enough room in my bank account and garage for one, I'd want guards on the cylinders...... nobody wants to go for a slide, but I'd hate the thought of grinding down one of those jugs on the road.....

I'm thinking I posted here already but here goes again anyway;
The Yamaha Ventures I rode for a lot of years;

Then I finally got tired of carburetors, was going to look at used bikes, ha;
saw this 2014 Ultra Limited in amber whiskey, looked at it kept saying to danged much money,
called the next day and told them I'd be up that evening to get it.


Put quite a few miles on her the first two years, then da*ned medical issues kept me off 2 summers,
only about 24,000 on her now.

I like that classic air-head design.

I had a 2000 1150GS. The four valve "oil heads" are not as classic looking as the old two valve airheads that you're thinking of. I had one of those too, a '77 R100RS. But the oilheads make a lot more power and are much more refined. The 1150 is a nice highway cruising machine with the tall 6th gear and roomy layout. I did a two week two up tour with my wife on mine.
