Well - I disagree with the flapper discs being "Free". I got mine, and shipping was fast! BUT - they're the type with the 7/8" open center whereas my 4 1/2" grinder is the 5/8" male stud type.

So, now the "no so free" part. There's no way I'm going to just throw away 10 very good assortment of flapper discs. The only solution that I can think of is to buy a brand new additional grinder Hello DeWalt, here I come. awww heck - now I have to buy yet another tool. I guess I'll just have to get over it.

That is a great outcome. Getting a new grinder is always a good thing.

Just use your grinding wheel base and nut. All of your grinding wheels are the 7/8" open center.

I had a similar epiphany after getting my discs in the mail. I bought my son who let me (us) in on this flapdisc promotion a new Fein angle grinder for Christmas, just in case they wouldn't work on his old Makita!

Just use your grinding wheel base and nut. All of your grinding wheels are the 7/8" open center.

That is what I do also. You may need a spacer washer depending on the grinder arbor. Mine needs about 3/16" of spacer to tighten down properly on a flap wheel.
