When I bought my tractor the dealership told me that as long as I kept the tractor full with oil that met spec the warranty was good. They acknowledged that AGCO oil was way overpriced, I still get my filters there and they are a bit spendy. My tractor requires 10 gallons of oil, so a $30 difference in 5 gallons does add up.

If it meets the Specs., it's good enough for the equipment that requires those Specs.

If a machine needed semi or full synthetic oil, the manufacturers of their machines would specify that in the Owner's Manuals and ship their tractors with the same. Regardless, I always change my oil and filters at the intervals that equipment manufacturers specify.

That's the way I see it. But like always, "To each, their own."

Meets the specs, still doesn't mean it's as good.

No, not everyone needs synthetic oil. But, some do need it.

If a piece of equipment was made before synthetic was readily available, or a manufacturer has not chose to switch yet, it doesn't mean some can't benefit from doing so. You shouldn't wait for a telegram from them, it may not come.

BTW: Kubota is now selling a hydraulic oil that is 75% synthetic, and recommending it be used in their equipment.

It also does not mean it is NOT as good either. It very well might be.

Let me know. Because, I'm just going to pay a little more for a product I know is good, and not have to think about it.

50+ years using name brand or equivalent Spec. oil in various tractors, crawlers, and smaller machinery without a single oil related problem, engine and transmission, manual and hydrostatic. (Allis-Chalmers, I.H., Cub Cadet, John Deere, and Kubota) :)

Now you know! ;)

Yup......meeting manufacturers specifications is all that is necessary.
Anything else that costs more $ is wasteful overkill.

Some MF GC owners have complained about brake chatter, and hydro pump whine, when they used cheap fluid.

So, now you know.

When I drained the initial fill on my MF GC1720 it was discolored and obviously had the jabeezus beat out of it. I replaced it with some expensive oil. I don’t know if it will make a difference or not. Oldoak has had success using name brand oil and that’s a problem I have with TSC oil It may be just as good or even better than Mobil, Chevron and Shell but I don’t know that for a fact and do not want to experiment. Most of the stuff TSC is cheap, kind of like a Harbor Freight for farmers and ranchers so I personally do not consider their oil to be name brand. Just my view on this, could be wrong and not trying to convince anyone of anything.
