It definitely looks like a power wagon! You will want to get those step rails...I doubt I could get up into my F250 without them! While you are at it, do you have a way to get up into the bed of the truck? Mine has a pull out step...its a must have especially in the winter.

I've found an easy system. I DON'T get up in the bed. Put whatever into the bed. Pull it back out and onto the tailgate with a long handle hoe. That Cargo Mgmt System will be nice. Prevent things from sliding all the way forward to the headwall.

You think the door sill is high. I was totally shocked when I lowered the tailgate. Stand up - nice and tall on the tailgate. Better be prepared for a nosebleed.

How does the Mrs. navigate getting in and out... does she have her own key?

After the steps & tonneau - only the cover for the rear seat. I have a large special made cover that will go back there. This will be the special place for Olly and all his muddy paws. No scratch marks or muddy paw prints on the new leather seats.

I will insist that he jumps up on his own. This "lifting" BS is gonna quit. 70 pounds of squirming dog is just too much.

We have a crate in the back seat of our F160 for our 50 lb. Airedale Terrier. He jumps/climbs up no problem, by stepping on the running board, then the rocker panel, then up into the crate.

We feel the crate is much safer than having him back there loose, but it does take up 2 if the 3 rear seating positions. (That is why we always get the F150 model with the front armrest that folds up into a 3rd front seat.)

I don't know if I could get Olly to go in a crate. Him staying in the back will be OK - I hope. The new PW has the front center section the folds up also. This should stop his trips from the front to back.

You should try traveling with a year old, 70#, Chocolate Lab in a TJ Jeep. He sits on the back bench seat - leans over the side of my front seat and insists that he be center stage for any & all driving decisions. And when I finally have to speak harshly to him about his place in the back seat - - he lays a big wet kiss - right on my ear. And folks wonder why I never take my cell phone with me - ha, ha, ha.

Very nice! I like those storage boxes - wish my truck had them. Anything needing to stay dry or not tossed about the bed goes in the back crew cab area - to get tossed about the interior of truck instead :)

Mine came with the factory running boards - & just being a regular F150 not quite so high. But the step part is a hard plastic, so if it's wet/snowy, they're really slippery. Getting in not so bad, but mrs CMV uses to exit and has landed on her butt getting out a couple times from them being kinda slick & not a good grippy texture.

So since you will get to choose yours, look at the surface for the step pads & consider that. You'll actually use yours being that much higher I'm sure. And getting out seems to be more risk than getting in - for us anyway.

I'm sure the same for a Dodge, but 2 co workers bought F150s recently that came without running boards/steps. They were able to find nice looking and reasonably priced ones. Both said they bolted right up so very simple install.

Yeah, one nice things about steps these days is that they are pretty easy to install. In fact, Ram already has holes underneath for the brackets.

The Raptor Series steps I posted earlier do have plastic step areas but they are really grippy so they aren't slippery at all. But it looks like oosik already has his eye on another style.

When I got my dog he was a year old, and I made up a 24" cable to keep him in the back seat. It didn't take long for him to learn.
Ever since his accident I have to lift him into the truck, so I can empathize with you. At least my truck isn't as high, but lifting a 90 lb dog several times per day isn't on my list of things that I want to do.
