The "TACO WAGON" has arrived

When I had the Samsung flip phone I RARELY took the phone with me when I left the house. No reason to have it - I wasn't going to call anybody & nobody was going to call me. I really don't see that there will be much change in that. Even with this new smart phone.
My wife insist in having triple A, (it covers me too) you never know, I may get to lazy to change a flat tire. lol

I carry AAA with 100 mile towing because in the event of a breakdown I can get it towed to my house; or if I'm more than halfway to my mother's place I can get it towed there.

Brother will often make his calls while on the road...

The connection from phone to Ford Super Duty is excellent... it must have noise cancelling or something similar... the quality is such I have to ask where he is because it is that good.

I would imagine the new Dodge would be as good or better.

Yeah - well, I'm just being stubborn. I'll "pair up" and use the new iPhone with the truck. It will be nice to be able to call ahead and have a pizza or tacos ready when I trip down south. I'm "linked up" on the motorcycle and it works well. And that was with the old flip phone. Just have to update that to the new phone. As I look out and it's still snowing - plenty of time to upgrade on the motorcycle.

It's just so dam overwhelming. Just about the time I think I have it all figured out - I tap on a new icon and an entire new world opens. AND I still am looking for the cord/control handle for the winch. There must be a dozen or more "hidee holes" on this truck. I just found a couple under the back seats, a couple under the front seats & one deep under the center folding seat. There are several places left to look also. As I start putting all my "necessary" items in various places - must develop a list so I know where everything is located.

My son asks - "If you don't like it, why did you get it that way". Well, it was either accept this unit with ALL the bells & whistles or order and wait six months. I'm sure that with time I will wonder how I could have lived without all the features.

I can now see how the young can walk down the street and look so spaced out. They are living in the world of "so many apps" on their new smart phones.

I averted a near tragedy yesterday. An insurance company had scheduled to come out here and discuss added options to my Medicare package. I told the girl who called - "be sure the agent comes in a 4WD vehicle - my driveway has some very iced up spots". She laughed - I was concerned. Fortunately, the agent called just as he turned into my driveway. He was in a 2WD Honda Accord. He might have made it all the way in but he would have NEVER made it back out to the county road in 2WD.

They will come back out in June with total success. Dam - why don't people listen and believe.

Anyhow - later today I'm going in to have the side steps and tonneau installed. I'll take more pictures. I see by the digital display on the Vantage - the temps are rapidly dropping as sunrise approaches. It's dropped four degrees in the last hour.

It's 14F now. I'll be in a MUCH better mood when I can enter/exit the PW in a normal manner. Slipping & sliding just isn't my forte.

I don't know if the 2500's have them, but on my 1500 their are two storage boxes under the rear floor mats.
One on each side, they are good sized.

Well - I found one under each rear seat. I didn't lift the floor mats - I'll check later today. So many holes - wonder why the PW weighs so much. Holes aren't really that heavy - ha. The dealership did say the handle is "in one of the storage compartments on the vehicle". No taco wrappers - no winch control yet. I'll find it.

Make sure you check BOTH glove boxes (upper dash & normal location), the deep lower portion of the center armrest (if you don't have a bench seat). There is a jack storage compartment on the lower outside segment of the passenger seat mount (there may be a controller storage on the driver seat), there is the full-width storage under the rear seat bottoms (release the snaps and lift). Have you gotten on a step stool to view into the deep recesses of the RAM Boxes? Perhaps it is in there. If you do not locate it, get that sales guy (or girl) on the phone and have them explain where it could be. I'm fairly certain we've covered all the nooks and crannies.

EDIT: The interwebz report that it has been found in the lower portion of the center armrest storage along with the hook and also in the driver's side rear underseat compartment.

coldsteelva - ha, ha, ha. What were YOU looking for, man. No, some, actually most, of the places you mention - I haven't looked yet. The running boards will definitely help me search these places. As it is now - standing on the ground - I can't reach the latch for the front center console. I can get up in the driver's seat and squirm around. But( no pun intended ) certain parts are just too big to do too much squirming. I'll find it when I can stand on the running boards.

If Xfaxman were around with his Telehandler - lower me down on a cable thru the roof skylight.

BTW - the temps are now @ - - 6F and still going down.

Isn't that pretty cold for your area?
