I'm surprised how many people don't seem to know about the Super Split kinetic splitter. No hydraulics and about a 3 second full cycle time. I have one an have split some pretty knarly wood on it. With typical wood, meaning oak, ash, maple, beech, etc if its cut into rounds I can split a cord in a half hour.

This is what a Super Split looks like:

I once saw splitting mauls for sale for about half price....it didn't include the head, it was just the handle.

I could use a couple of those, I keep breaking them. ;)

So you paid half - you got half. Some times half isn't quite enough to make a descent splitter. Sometimes half is just a PITA.

However - it's good to know what half will get us.

Nobody would want a "descent" splitter anyway.
A DECENT one might be good to have though.
(just jerkin you chain)

Still have great grandad's fathers Original splitting mall

Of course it has been through 2 heads and 5 handles but...

I have a Northstar that I paid $7K for. It's the cheapest splitter I've ever owned. 9 years old in this pic.

I can’t lift 3/4 of the rounds I split so a lift isn’t optional. And I split a lot of of knarly wood. Maybe that’s why my splitter is busted but I wouldn’t think splitting some knarly wood would be a tall order for a claimed 37 ton splitter. And I’d really like to see you split a cord in half an hour. Assuming it’s cut 24” that’s 2 rick or 2 face cord. If it’s 16” long that’s 3 rick or 2 face cord. Even handling a cord of split firewood in 30 minuets is really going after it. If you meat to say an hour and a half that’s a believable claim.

It takes my brother and I a little over an hour to split a cord of 18inch wood with a 12 second cycle time and that is getting after it..

With 2 people that’s about what I can do. If it’s the right size to push through the 4 way once and done I can split a rick in 30 minuets or so. Splitting a rick in 10 minuets by yourself, now I’d like to see that.
