those bolts were junk bolts, they are much cheaper than quality bolts!. btw, I have yet to find a fastener made in China that is not junk!. I'm sure some other Countries are the same way.
Mitsubishi is Japanese not China.
Owning it as long as I have I praise the quality build and reliability.
IMO equal to Kubota quality.
Not one bolt or machine fastener has given me trouble to date (other than differential) and my observation is all fasteners are fine thread and graded.
Not stripped or broken one yet. (other than front end)
I might well be that the metal tabs that 'locked' the crown gear fasteners simply worked themselves lose.
There were no signs of lock washers, just the metal strips with folded tabs to prevent them from rotating.
I think locktite, drilled and safety wiring in pairs as well as lock washers will outlast the tractor.
LOL, sure did not wish to have to do it again!
The down side is Mitsubish is no longer in the North American market so support is sketchy.
AND the worst is they used a rear tire that NOBODY produces! (9,5 X18 R3)' and I have been searching for 3 years now. Got he last pair in Canada and they seriously weather checked in first 6 months. (tried Canada, USA and China to no avail)
2 truck tire sizes meet specs (295/70 R18 and 285/75 R18) but again a rare size that seems mainly used by rock climbing off roader and pricy!
